Birthday surprise! My bf was celebrating his birthday but he lost his wallet on our way to Laguna. When we dined for Saturday lunch Oct.13, we saw they were giving birthday cupcake surprise to a fellow diner who is celebrating his birthday too. We did not made reservations but we mentioned to the server that we have a birthday celebrant and would appreciate the cute gesture as well.
To our surprise, the staff did bring up a cupcake and sang happy birthday for him. Staff in this resto are the real gem of the place. They also attend to their guest's need asap. Your glass of water will never be empty, because they will refill it at once when they see it is already half empty.
We had onion mozarella medallion, pasta ( pesto and a red one, the bestsellers in the menu), chili baby back ribs, mashed potatoes and young corn with mushroom.
I would say we could have skipped the onion medallion ( they have spinach cream sauce inside, not so much my type but would be good if you like it). The ribs could use some more sauce because it was dry when served.. but it was fall off the bone and tender.
The red pasta with fresh tomatoes were yummy!! The tomatoes were fresh as Laguna is on the top 10 producers of tomatoes in the country. The pesto pasta is so good too, they did not skimp on the sauce. I didn't even notice that there was little parm cheese on it until now that I am reviewing it.. thats how good it was.
For dessert we had their sans rival pistachio and the seasonal ube sponge cake ( leche flan on top, ube filling in the middle, and ube sponge cake at the bottom). To say that it was good was not enough. I would go back for the sponge cake and try it with hot coffee! Hopefully they have it when we go back.
The ambiance of the place was chill and homey. They have a second floor that could be accessed outside to accommodate more guests.
The location is easy to spot as it is near the San Pablo Church, plus you could ride a tricycle for a few minutes to relax at the Sampaloc Lake after.
Maybe one day when I crave for the sponge cake and would want to leave Manila for a bit, I'll ride the bus to San Pablo Laguna and visit this...
Read moreHad a great food experience here. One of the things I greatly appreciated here is the accommodating staff. That is one of the things I look forward in a restaurant. Another things is their great food. Others may think it as pricey, but it is really good food. Quality-assured and healthy plates could be expected. I did not get disappointed in any of the dishes they served. My mother and younger sister complimented the dishes. One thing they may add is their capability to support credit or debit card payments which may attract more people. The room temperature is ideal, and the food and beverages were really great. I did not expect some simple dishes could have the flavors you do not commonly expect. I indeed recommend this place especially if you are around or traveling in San Pablo. Looking forward to...
Read moreWe visited during the SPC fiesta. Si Christina doesnât have too many customers. Cake and coffee is good but i guess the service crew are too complacent, they do not have extra effort to smile and welcome us, it comes too cold, maybe better off not to have service crews anymore if its the case (like a counter option only) since what they are projecting with this resto is âhigh endâ. I was a bit disappointed since it is the first time that i brought my daughter in and i kinda brag...
