We had a table for 9 people. Walking into the restaurant everything looked nice. The person which i think was the owner held a nice conversation with us. My bad experience started when we ordered the food. We ordered a nice big platter of sushi and everyone ordered their own main dish. 4 people received their dishes and the rest was just waiting. These 4 people ordered the beef teriyaki. These 4 tasted totally different from each other. It was also very dry. After they were done eating we waited almost an hour for the sushi to come. You would not expect this for a platter of 56 pieces. The restaurant was not even busy. We also ordered drinks which we didn’t even received. After waiting too long and asking a few times we still did not receive it. So then we just skipped the whole order of drinks. The sushi itself was just okay. Nothing special. After a while we received drinks dat we didn't even order. So then we asked to bill out. The drinks we didn't ask for were on the bill. When we wanted to check the rest of the bill for the things we did not receive it was not even readable. So then we just payed the bill without even knowing what we payed for. Unfortunately there is no 0 star button. What a bad experience. The people where nice but the service was nowhere...
Read moreAt first hand it looks cozy, and it is...kinda. the problem comes when you are going to sit down the chairs are standing on rolling stones, which means it's difficult to keep the balance. When you finally have pushed your chair through the level of stones it's time to order your food, and in this case it was Sushi. I am not a Japanese or expert in Sushi, but order it a few times a month in Denmark. Sorry to say it, but this Sushi would survive in Denmark unless it was sold in a supermarket. The service was stressful, I mean they had two waiters to many customers, so when you order a simple thing like a Coca Cola, they simply forget. This is not to blame the staff, but management. Then there should be live music, it should start at 9 pm. We arrived at 7 pm and in 1.5 hours we heard the band keep testing their gear, very loud...saying "test, test test"...break for a few seconds and then again "test, test, test". For 1.5 hours. We could not talk because of...
Read moreWe ordered via phone for pickup. We ordered the crunchy salmon salad, California maki, crazy mango roll, chicken karaage, and an ebi tempura. Would definitely not recommend the crunchy salmon salad, it was all breading that was colour orange? for you to maybe not notice what tiny salmon cubes were in it, wouldn't even call them cubes, probably like the size of an ant (the breading used also tasted like the batter used for kwek-kwek) very disappointed with this. The rice used for the maki didn't feel like well-made sushi rice, they were falling apart and was not sticky. The ebi tempura and karaage were ok, not anything to write home about. If you're badly craving for authentic Japanese food in San Pablo this is probably not the place, but you'd also be hard pressed to find anything better. The staff and the owner were very courteous and felt like they truly cared for the food they were...
