For a proud Filipino like me, it is always nice to hang out and eat at a restaurant that serves my kind of food. It makes me feel like I’m back home enjoying the traditional Filipino dishes. With their excellent service and delicious dishes, Chowking brings joy to customer’s faces.
Chowking’s food originally consisted of Chinese dishes, but added Filipino dishes when they established a branch in the Philippines. Their food is separated into combo plates, single orders, and desserts. They recently added Taho, which is a traditional Filipino sweet tofu with Boba and sweet syrup.
Chowking offers different varieties of combo meals. These main combo meals are the Oriental Beef Bowl ($2.39), Fried Boneless Bangus (Milkfish)($4.25), Sweet and Sour pork rice meal ($2.39), Tender Beef Broccoli Rice meal ($2.65), and the Chicken Supreme rice meal ($3.19). All of these include rice and a refillable drink of your choice.
I ordered their Fried Boneless Bangus ($4.25). This rice meal consists of two fried milkfish, a large scoop of rice, two fried eggs, and a drink of your choice. The fried bangus was mouthwatering because of their special soy sauce and the fact that it was crunchy. It really brought back the memories of my stay in the...
Read moreDined in with my mom and maid last night and the cashier didn't even get our food right. Our order was as simple as it could possibly get (like 3 regular rice meals) but yet she still mistakenly upgraded our drinks to the premium lemonade with sago which cost us to pay 74 pesos more per meal (PS: she didn't even bother to inform us that the lemonade would be premium drink, she said that they only have iced tea and lemonade for drinks since sodas are not available)
On top of that I also asked the manager why the bill was so high for a 3-person meal even though we have 2 PWD discount, I also tried to calmly explain my observation with the receipt with him. However, the manager was raising his voice to me at times (I even had to call him out for it and calm him down). He even said things like "papakita ko sayo, buti nalang nga may discount ka pa" and to me it just portrayed unprofessionalism. To cut the story short, I decided to let it go and move on since I really don't like arguments.
Anyway, I hope in the future we can improve the service and brief the staffs about being polite and calm with customers during situations like this...
Read moreI'm just ranting. We ordered wanton soup last Saturday, from this branch. They had limited dining so we thought, ok, let's eat here, since we just wanted something to warm our tummies. It's way past lunch. We were busy. The soup came, nothing out if the ordinary. Then we started to eat. At first, I thought it was just me. Then my friend stood up to get some soy. But went back to our table searching for a packet of toyomansi, there was none. She went back to the counter, it took her sometime to get back to the table. To shorten the story, we had an overly bland wanton soup. And the counter people won't give some soy, and even sauce for the siopao ( because they say, it's already saucy). They won't give soy sauce because they insisted they already placed some on the tray. The wanton soup was really bland. Parang hot water lang. Sorry naman. Ang lungkot na itsura ng store, ang susunget pa ng tao. Mukhang tambakan ang dining area. Pwede naman sana pagandahin ang small space kahit pa luma na. Try making it cheery, baka...
