previously a Filipino-Chinese restaurant, now a Korean Cuisine Restaurant.
The renovation they did with the place was just..wow. It was gloomy and rainy when we visited, but the ambience of the place immediately gave a cozy feel when we entered.
we tried:
• Short Rib Soup - similar to Nilaga but tastier. meat was tender and there were glass noodles underneath. very veryy nice to have in this rainy weather! (paired with their rice na medyo sticky, so good!)
• Beef Bulgogi - personal favorite. not too sweet and not too salty + with a bit of spice(iirc). the ratio of beef to veggies was just right for me. (devoured this with rice too!)
• Jajangmyeon - not my cup of tea but this one was suprisingly good ha. tastes soooo much better than the instant ones that I've tried (that i immediately gave up on bc of the weird taste haha). would have been better if we had it with fried egg hehe.
• Steamed Dumplings - was loaded inside, super sulit. it's good, just didn't like the super vegetable taste hahahahaha sorry agad.
• Seafood and Green Onion Pancake - the jeon was soft and tasty. would've preferred if the chives were thinner or if the batter was a bit thicker hehe. If you want to try their jeon, the one included in the side dishes would suffice.
**they offered various side dishes (jeon, radish, seaweed, kimchi, sweet potato) that you can have refilled once. the jeon and sweet potato were my favorites. **bit pricy but were justified with the generous servings and each food's quality. **restaurant is airconditioned, well-ventilated. **servers were attentive and nice, as well as the manager
All in all a great experience. Can't wait to try out the other...
Read moreHan Kook Gwan in Silang, Cavite (just near Primark) is such a great spot if you’re looking for authentic Korean food without having to travel far. The variety of banchan (side dishes) is impressive—kimchi, savory pancakes, marinated peanuts, and more, all fresh and tasty.
Their Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) was perfectly cooked, packed with vegetables and pork, and had that light sesame-soy flavor that makes you keep going back for another bite. The Doenjang Jjigae (soybean paste stew) was served piping hot in a stone pot, rich and comforting, especially when paired with the steamed rice.
Portions are generous, flavors are authentic, and the atmosphere makes it perfect for sharing meals with family or friends. Definitely a must-try Korean restaurant if...
