Unfortunate that the service given was not on par with what the others have experienced. The wait time to enter wasn't too bad considering it was a holiday. We were seated at the extended garden area and immediately, you could feel the warmth and the odd placement of the tables. There were literally 2 servers manning the area and none of them were willing to make eye contact with the patrons. On our left was a couple that, from the looks of it, have been waiting for a long time to get theirs orders taken, and behind us, a family that was experiencing the same thing as I kept hearing them say "Ano ba yan walang pumapansin." I knew that the same was coming our way.
We got our orders in with an exasperated look from the server, and after 30 minutes, with a few follow-ups, got our initial orders of halo-halo (245) and ube keso bibingka (260). We had to keep flagging them down to refill the given water bottles that were lukewarm. And after 45 mins, the turon finally came.
The few patrons around can be overheard complaining of the long wait for their orders too. One group even stormed off as there wasn't anyone even giving them water once they sat.
All in all, chances of us coming back here are slim to none. Since we already have a big breakfast, we just came here for some small snacks and was disappointed at the atmosphere, the lack of service detail, and the obvious need for more service crew.
What we ordered: 3x Halo-halo 245 - one small ice cream scoop and very plain Suman latik 285 - for 2 or 3 ube keso bibingka 260 - disappointing buko pandan shake 185 - too sweet americano 120 turon ala mode 235 - perhaps the best thing we ordered
First and possibly the last time...
Read moreServes Filipino favorite dishes. It has been a few years since I ate here. I like the food but it's a bit pricey compared to others.
Food- the Sinigang Salmon sa miso soup is 4.5/5 for me. The serving was huge, the salmon belly is generous, i like how the sinigang sourness. Everything we ordered tastes good. Rice is in a smaller cup but enough for 1 serving.
Ambiance - outdoor / garden, al fresco dining. The only downside to that were the flies!
Service - there were few attendants but were pleasant naman. It was just hard to find one right away.
Parking - spacious open parking. Im assuming it will be difficult if there are events but hey, it's free!
Restroom - one clean and functioning cubicle at womens RR. They have tissue, water, bidet in the cubicle; liquid soap and hand dryer too. Im assuming the restroom for men are clean too.
Price range -food: 300 - 900. Drinks: 80-500 (they have pitcher servings, fruit shakes etc); dessert: less than 500 Per person budget: 400-800.
I only wish they have a close door/ airconditioned dining so we can focus on the food than...
Read moreAlways wanted to try out this talked about resto whenever we went to Tagaytay--and this is THAT day! :) don't be deceived by the fence along the highway, because once you enter the place, it opens up to this beautiful scenery that truly depicts what a garden should be! Of course this was just a plus since what we're after for is the food! There are 10 of us, 6 are kids so it was a challenge to pick what they'll like. But their sinigang and pork sisig are the heroes of the day! The fragrance from the sinigang hints of floral--maybe due to the flowers around our table. Sisig didn't disappoint--and before I count to 10, it was all gone haha for me the seafood kare kare is the top choice with generous heapings of seafood and veggies. The peanut sauce is so yummy almost like they put in skippy. Bulalo eill be the go to for the rest and this one felt just lile Tagaytay feels.
So if you're around Tagaytay, drop by and have a sensory overdrive not just from the picturesque place but thw awesome food that made this already an institution. Thank...
