Overall 4.8
Food is too notch. Service is top notch. Great value and ambiance. Getting a damn parking nearby maybe hard but it's all worth it. One of the must try resto in tacloban. Some might not appreciate it but most would. They also accept senior and don't cheat them like most restos do. They also don't give you an attitude like most resto would. +0.5 in my book.
Food 5
Food here is amazing. Nothing beats award winning chefs cooking for you. They are very friendly too. The chef/owner would often survey around and talk to his patrons. Very down to earth and friendly.
Cakes are amazing. Indian foods are amazing. Although a word of caution. Not all peoples palate are the same. I know some who said they didn't enjoy it as much as I and majority of the people I know did. But majority of the people I know said it was amazing.
Service 5
From the owner to the staff, they are all friendly and accomodating. Service with a genuine smile. Well trained staff that are usually scarce in the region. Very very few places in the region have great service. Most of the time the staff are irrate.
Value 4.5
Price is not bad for an award winning chef. It's one of the must try resto in tacloban. Prices might be higher than your normal run of the milk resto. But not much. You're getting better service and better food. You get what you pay for.
Ambiance 5
It's been a while since I visited them and ate there. I usually order a takeout through online shops. I cannot remember much about the place anymore. I remember the place as being nice but I don't seem to recall too much details which means it was as expected. I should visit again in person and update this in the future. I'm lazy though so it might be a while. Wahahahaha
Parking 2
2-3 cars will be able to park in front but there aren't really any parking spaces. When it rains the floor is really wet near the entrance so I'd rather not go when it rains. But the guys there are very friendly and will offer to walk you out with an umbrella if...
Read moreFood and service is very good. The chicken tikka masala I had was different to what I would have in the UK (trivia: that is where the dish was invented) but still tasty, although as one other reviewer mentioned, the portion size of actual chicken was on the small side.
The desserts are of a high international standard and the croissants taste as they would in Europe - beautiful! The mango lassi was very large and served in a bowl rather than a glass which has always been my previous experience, so felt a little odd but not bad.
The only unfortunate part of the experience was the owner appeared to be entertaining two of his friends inside on the same night, and one of them was loud and frequently swearing with the F word. This really degraded the ambiance of the place. I appreciate that the owner can do what he likes in his own restaurant, but hope he will be more considerate to his customers in future. Fortunately, the friend left before another group of customers including...
Read moreWe have been wanting to try this venue and finally made it. It's not a large place, but the outside seating was very appealing. Inside is small but has a very nice atmosphere to it. The fresh pastries in the glass cases looked inviting. (A large array of different pastries) There was plenty to order from on the menu. Inside wasn't too hot or too cold. Staff was professional, and she took our order with a smile. The food arrived all together and was hot. Enough for two people. You could taste the curry (nice). For me, it could have been a little bit more spicier, but for the wife (who doesn't like spicy), it was okay. The sauces the food was brought in were very tasty. Naan bread was good. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal and we will definitely come back again. The wife bought a couple of pastries to go and said they...
