Veranda Resto — Restaurant in Valencia

Really wanted to like this place because it's got amazing visual appeal. The views from the second level are spectacular, mountains to the left and Cebu island plus the sea on the right. I am learning something important based on patronage. If you show up at a place during lunchtime and there are zero other diners in sight, chances are there's a good explanation and it strongly suggests you need to consider dining elsewhere. The pictures of the meals on the menu did not match up with what was served. Prices were low but quality was also well below acceptable. Ordered a shake and it also was not up to par and not as delicious as what is being served in many other locations. I would rate the service better than a 1 if there was any. If we did not go downstairs to place an order I am convinced we would have sat there waiting indefinitely. Maybe that was our fault for not asking if a wait person was working upstairs but when you enter what appears to be a very nicely appointed establishment you tend to expect table service. The place is nice-looking and is very open and breezy. It wasn't expensive. They don't have a proper menu and mostly they do eatery style pre-cooked food, plus some cakes and desserts. Would probably good for a cake and coffee type outing. Food arrived very quickly, which other reviewers have complained about. I had a fish burger and it wasn't fresh. The burger tortilla was also pretty bland. Okay, I've had worse and a cold Pilsen to wash it down will make a lot of things better. Ooops. Beer wasn't cold. Oh, they also do not have WiFi. Also, avoid being there at 6pm or 8pm unless you want a church service being yelled in your ear at high volume from the nearby...

Here with my family as of the moment and I rarely give 1 star but our experience here right now is horrible. For an ice tea it would take 30 mins to be served. For a halo2x, 45 mins for a spaghetti 1 whole hour. The place is relaxing but the staffs ( 2 women are so unwelcoming) i asked them if what ice cream comes with the halo2x and she told me she does not know coz her job is just to serve the food.. To make things worst, after waiting for an hour for our food, the spag did not taste good either the watery sad quesadillas... This is my second time ( first experience was great) here and i will never come back here or recommend this place to any...
