Cafe Byfyj — Restaurant in Katowice

Been there today with my parents and we really enjoyed the whole experience. I did not expect the food to be that good, even the pizza they serve over there is of decent quality. The surroundings are very interesting, especially for foreigners. The whole interior design is a nice fusion of local, Silesian style and more modern influences. The only downside would be the lack of clear instructions on how to order food. We sat for a while waiting to be served and even tho there were members of staff around us, no one approached the table to explain that you actually have to order the food by yourself at the counter. What a place! You’ll find there everything you could crave... wonderful wonderful sweets, cakes, donuts. Take some coffee and enjoy the atmosphere of the district. If you need something bigger - try any dinner dish, which obviously will be a blessing (highly recommended: traditional Silesian dinner made of dumplings, red cabbage and beef) or a soup - you will be satisfied. This place serves also very nice italianish pizza, which probably will steal your heart. Service is super cool, super nice, always friendly and helpful. The most traditional and long lasting place I've ever been in the surroundings of Katowice. Atmosphere is quiet and familiar. Food (mainly cakes but also pizzas and soups of the day -try the Silesian Żur, typical) is very good and tasty. They have also a wide selection of tea. Take away is possible not only from the shop itself but also from the attached backery where they have also bread. The waiters speaks good english and are very young and kind. I've been in this place dozens of times and it's a must for my guests. I definitely love this place. Double...
