I've been to this restaurant numerous times and the food is simply the best. I've recommended this restaurant to numerous people whose families live in the area. Have even offered to pay so they could experience the great food. BUT and it is a BIG BUT. Do not go there if you are single and expect service. Tonight I was told the wait would be 5-10 and expected it to be longer which would have been ok. Since there is no waiting area I said I would wait outside so not to be in the way of the staff. After waiting over 15 minutes I began noticing people walking in. If it hadn't been for a couple of the staff chatting out front, I seriously doubt if I would have been seated at the worse location in the restaurant with the other two couples sitting in front of me in much better locations. I ordered a pizza, 2 meals, a bottle of wine and a bottle of beer but made it a take out. I'm taking the two meals and wine back to Warsaw for friends. The first time I visited the service was excellent but of course it was not a busy day. Since then it has progressively gotten worse. Normally I leave a 20% tip but tonight I left nothing. The next time I visit Przemyśl I'm going to invite one of the guys who hang out near the bus station. Since it will be TWO people eating maybe we'll have decent service. And i don't have a problem paying for a poor man's meal. Or, bring a video camera and post the dining experience on YouTube. If you're a party of two or more, enjoy your meals. I'm sure the service and food...
Read moreI usually come every time to this place because they have a very good food, actually the best in town. But tonight I was so unpleasaently surprised that they refused to serve me because I came on 20:47 and apparently kitchen is working until 20:45. I explained that I'm a regular, that my train was late for 45min, that I was waiting half a day just to come and eat here, but no - they were super rigid. I tried to talk to "manager" but she was like none of that was my problem. They didn't even try! I understand that they have the reputation and that they dont care, but I do. Two minutes means nothing and to turn away the guest is super rude and unprofessional, especially when I explained the situation and that I'm a regular. For me this is a red flag, and I will probably never come to this place again. If it's one thing I hate, its bad service, and tonight was the peak of non-flexibility and simply desire to get rid of all customers as soon as possible. Pathetic... Luckily for them there is no zero as a mark, because they...
Read moreIf this place was in Warszawa, I am sure there would be lines outside. The food is amazing and that doesn't do justice. We had three traditions dishes, Soda Bread and two different types of Pirogi. Words do not do justice to the taste, I cannot state this enough.
The Soda Bread was served with garlic butter (I might be wrong with this), plum jam, cottage cheese and kefir. The bread was warm and the first bite just wanted me to order more. Whoever the chef is, kudos to them. All the condiments for the bread just added to the delicious taste.
As for the pirogi dishes, they were unique and amazing. Totally worth having them to just try something traditional and uncommon.
My advice is simple, if you're in area and have time, visit this place. Sit down, order some tea and take in the menu. Order what takes your fancy. Just go in without any hype and give it a shot. For me, the experience was amazing.
Thank you to the staff and chef for that.
