Piaskownica — Restaurant in Sopot

Update 2024 for my review after being a customer for at least 3 years (from five stars to one):

It's disheartening to see a place go down like this in terms of service. We sat outside, were ignored for 20 minutes, then got contradicting answers by the staff ("we take orders only inside", "we take orders outside" etc.), followed by an apology and still did not get served after a while.

I think it's what happens when places get very famous — they start to feel comfortable mistreating regular customers. Pretty sad for a spot that has good food and was once a nice choice.

No problem, Mrs. Owner. Someone else will get the same money I'd spend there. I just feel bad for wasting my time - which you can't repay. I'm sure all the lower scores talking about your service, from other people here, agree with me.

Definitely one of the most charming places in 3city. Owner payd huge effort to make the place cozy, and let you feel being home. Home form fairy tale. Service used to be not very friendly and the food just ok, which is not valid any more. Over last two years improved a lot, food is really good and the service prompt and kind. I'm not a fan of 15 pages menu, the minimalistic neither, which is the case here, and imho small disadvantage. You can still have a few choices though, and you will enjoy it. Writer time you should come to try one few mulled liquors sitting by the fireplace At the summer time you can enjoy dining at the beach. Groups and families highly welcomed, especially considering beach option, however go to M15 if you would like to have a break watching kids playing at the large beach playground. Amazing location. The flowers are beautiful. The menu was very basic offering nothing creative or inspiring. I ordered the salmon and it was like a home cooked dish, very nice and very basic. It would have been nice with some sauce. The desert was terrible. The cherries and flavors of the ice cream didn’t compliment each other.

The service wasn’t great. When you walk you I saw a lot of people including us not knowing where to go and what to do. There was about three waiters that didn’t acknowledge us. You need to ask for everything as they very rarely visit the table to ask how the food is or if you need a drink. I think this could be improved. It looked like the waiters didn’t have sections to look after and were walking everywhere. To give better service perhaps sections would be a great idea. We had one waiter who was great!
