I chose Gardens by Fort to celebrate my birthday with friends, excited for a memorable experience since I'd enjoyed the atmosphere and food during a previous visit. Unfortunately, my celebration was a big disappointment, and I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone's special day.
From the beginning, the service felt impersonal and unwelcoming. The staff at the entrance lacked warmth, and the table we were given was located uncomfortably close to a fridge stocked with alcohol. Waiters were constantly reaching by us to retrieve bottles, creating a steady flow of interruptions throughout the meal.
We ordered bottles of prosecco but waited 40 minutes for them to arrive. Despite following up with our server, we received confusing responses, only to later realize that they’d been holding back because they thought I wasn’t at the table—though I was seated the entire time. This lack of communication was frustrating, and overall, the staff seemed disengaged, bringing plates with blank expressions and hardly interacting with us.
Perhaps my expectations were high, but when you’re spending over 3000 PLN, plus a 10% service charge, you anticipate attentive and courteous service. The biggest disappointment came with the cake, which left me feeling sad. I’d brought a special cake for the occasion, knowing there was a 20 PLN per person fee just for bringing it into the restaurant (a total of 220 PLN). Typically, when you celebrate at other restaurants, staff might offer candles, say a few nice words, or even play music. However, at Gardens by Fort, the waitstaff actually asked if I had brought candles! After paying such a fee, I would have expected them to at least provide this small touch.
When it finally came time to bring out the cake, the presentation was completely mishandled. Staff initially brought it towards us, then abruptly stopped, swapped it with another cake for a different table, and finally returned with mine. They placed it on the table, added my own candles without ceremony, and simply told me, "It’s ready." I felt awkward and disappointed, having expected a bit more effort to make the moment festive. To make it worse, a musician played the birthday song for another table nearby, which only highlighted the lackluster treatment we received.
Though the location and interior of the restaurant are stunning and the food was decent (though not exceptional), the experience was not worth the high price. My friends all agreed that the service didn’t match the cost or the restaurant’s otherwise...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Gardens and I must say, the experience was largely delightful.
The ambiance of the restaurant was another highlight. It was warm, inviting, and made for a great dining experience. The staff were friendly and professional, adding to the overall positive atmosphere.
However, there was a slight hiccup in our experience. We had to wait for about 40 minutes before our order was taken, which was quite a long wait. But once our order was in, the food was prepared and served within 20 minutes, which was impressive.
In conclusion, despite the initial delay in taking our order, the overall experience at Gardens was enjoyable. The quality of the food and the ambiance more than made up for the wait. I would recommend this restaurant to others, but I hope they can improve on their order-taking time...
Read moreOverall it was good but the energy seemed cold. The staff were professional but something was lacking. Maybe warmth in the ambience and staff.
We ordered the beef salad It was a good filler. Loved the items in it. Mango, pomegranate . However, the beef had packet rosemary on it that tasted very ordinary. We would have appreciated the herb baked or severed with the beef to give it the rosemary flavour lightly.
octopus Delicious. Loved it. Very small portion though
Beef cheeks Good big pieces of beef. Melt in your mouth. They didn’t have the chocolate sauce and replaced it with kluski. Ok but chocolate sauce would be more flavourful. Would I return there again? Maybe if I hear better reviews in a few months specially about...
