Mandala: Where protein comes with a crunch... and six legs!
Looking for an "exciting" culinary adventure that involves surprise ingredients? Look no further than Mandala! My friends and I recently enjoyed a delightful lunch there, where we discovered a most peculiar addition to one of our meals: a perfectly preserved cockroach.
Now, I understand that restaurants encounter the occasional creepy crawly visitor. It happens. But what truly elevated our experience was the staff's hilarious reaction. Apparently, finding a decomposing insect in your food is a knee-slapper at Mandala! We were met with chuckles and dismissive shrugs, except for one kind soul who seemed genuinely apologetic.
To the lone staff member who actually cared: thank you. To the rest of the Mandala crew? A round of applause for your impressive ability to turn a health code violation into a laughing matter.
Just to be clear, for those seeking a normal dining experience (you know, the kind that doesn't involve playing entomological roulette), I'd steer clear of Mandala. Unless, of course, you're into strong stomachs and side dishes that scuttle.
In all seriousness, this experience was unacceptable. Save yourself the frustration and avoid...
Read moreThe place serves the most the pathetic Indian food in Warsaw. Tandoori is reheated for sure because they state that it will take 25 mins to prepare it and it was served in 10 mins. On top of it, the outer layer was hot and inner stuff was cold. Chicken biryani is an insult to the term biryani itself. It is more of a masala rice tossed in some lame masala and the rice grains are not even Basmati. It was over cooked; again it was reheated for sure because the rice grains getting broken into small pieces the moment you dig in and rather it was like a sticky rice. We complained about the quality of food and the staff had the audacity to say that they prepare it in this pathetic fashion. They didn't have the courtesy to improve the food or cancel the order or chef/manager had the guts to speak to us. Last, the final disaster - Rasmalai. It was a mockery of it. Served in hot milk with cold rasmalai. Either it should be served completely cold or hot and it was a fusion of it. I sense initially, rasmalai pieces were placed in sugar syrup and then hot milk was added because the moment you squeeze it all the sugar syrup was oozing out of it. Overall - Please don't waste your money and don’t take a chance with...
Read moreLet me start off by saying the service was a 10/10. Our server Ahmed was amazing. He checked up on us through out the night and recommended great dishes. We started off with the prawn toast and the spring rolls (of off the Thai menu) as recommended by Ahmed. Both dishes were delicious and not oily. The sauce that came with the dishes was even better. For the main courses we got butter chicken with rice, the green lamb curry (off of the Thai menu), garlic butter naan, garlic naan and methi naan. The butter chicken was amazing. We often go out to eat Indian food and this was the best one we’ve had yet. The green lamb curry had a great and deep flavour and the lamb was very tender. The naan’s were great but we would recommend the garlic butter naan the most. It was nice and fluffy but with the crispy edges. The butter on top was just the finishing touch it needed. Mango lassi was just as great as the food. Great flavour and not too thick, which i prefer. The mango lemonade was also nice but a bit too sour for our taste. Over all it was an excellent experience and i would definitely recommend if you’re looking for Indian/Thai...
