This place holds a lot of memories for me. As a teenager, living in Portugal with my parents, back in the mid 80's, we came to eat at Cabanitas... a lot!! And now I'm back as a tourist... I visited for the first time in 20 years. The area is so built up now, compared to 20, 30 years ago, but Cabanitas still rules the crossroads! We sat out on the terrace area, nice and early, at 10am. While we were enjoying our drinks, we noticed some of the locals who frequent the place seemed a bit odd. A group of young English girls were there, just having a couple of cocktails. After they left, one of the locals followed them out and tried to persuade them to get into his car. The girls returned to the bar visibly shaken and asked us to walk them home, which we did. I own an apartment near buy and with a family of 5 when on holidays we find it very easy to have breakfast here very close to us and the food is excellent and good value for money at the average breakfast price less that 6 euros. Hugo who is the manager is a very friendly man who would go out of his way to make you comfortable and welcome. A must stop for anyone in the area and an excellent sports bar with loads of tvs to watch your favourite team...
