Homely Taste of Portugal at Restaurant Tanqueira in Amarante Nestled in the charming town of Amarante, Portugal, Restaurant Tanqueira Ver offers an authentic Portuguese dining experience that is both heartwarming and unforgettable. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped by a homely atmosphere that immediately makes you feel like part of the family. The restaurant's interior exudes warmth, with rustic décor and soft lighting that create a cozy and inviting ambiance. Traditional Portuguese elements are thoughtfully integrated into the design, giving you a sense of the country's rich cultural heritage. It's the kind of place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to savor each moment. The exceptional service is one of the standout features of Tanqueira Ver. Our evening was made particularly special by Tita, a delightful hostess whose genuine warmth and attentiveness elevated our dining experience. Tita's friendly demeanor and knowledgeable recommendations showcased her passion for both the food and her guests. She effortlessly balanced professionalism with a personal touch, making us feel truly cared for throughout our meal. A unique highlight of our visit was the house wine, lovingly grown and produced by Tita's father. This personal touch added a layer of authenticity that is rare to find. The wine was exquisite—rich in flavor with a smooth finish that perfectly complemented our meal. Knowing the wine came from the family's own vineyard made each sip more meaningful, connecting us to the land and the people who cultivate it. The menu at Tanqueira Ver is a celebration of traditional Portuguese cuisine. Each dish is prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, reflecting the country's culinary traditions. From the succulent grilled meats to the flavorful seafood dishes, every plate was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to quality. The flavors were robust yet balanced, leaving a lasting impression on our palates. Despite the high quality of both the food and service, the prices at Tanqueira Ver are remarkably reasonable. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that offers such an exceptional experience without breaking the bank. This balance of excellence and affordability makes it accessible for both locals and travelers seeking an authentic taste of Portugal. The overall environment contributes significantly to the restaurant's charm. The homely setting, coupled with the friendly staff and the personal touches throughout, creates an atmosphere that is both relaxed and intimate. It's the kind of place where you can linger over a meal, engage in heartfelt conversations, and truly immerse yourself in the experience. In conclusion, Restaurant Tanqueira Ver in Amarante is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the heart and soul of Portuguese hospitality and cuisine. The exceptional service provided by Tita, the delightful family-grown wine, and the warm, homely environment come together to create a dining experience that is both unique and deeply satisfying. It's more than just a meal; it's a journey into the rich cultural tapestry of Portugal. Highly recommended for its outstanding service, delectable food, and reasonable prices, Tanqueira Ver stands out as a gem in Amarante's dining scene. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or a first-time visitor to Portugal, make sure to add this charming restaurant to your itinerary. You won't be disappointed.

We got hair in our food. Waitress didnt speak english. Food was raw with blood. Fries covered with tons of oil And even the rice. The rice was too salty and meat wasnt spiced at all. Offered us a bread with small piece of butter and at the end charged us with 4,5 euro for old hard bitten bread. Just discusting!! Never again!!!

Mantiveram a tal “regra”.

We just at there tonight. If you want a taste of true Northern Portugal, this is your place! It is not fancy, it is homey with homemade food. What your Gramma would make for Sunday dinner. We had the mixed appetizer, the Portuguese stew and the goat. The menu is in Portuguese, but they you the translator app to help. The service was wonderful and the Port was delightful. Highly recommend if you are in Amarante and want something authentic and homemade. Price is...
