More than paying for the place. As have found more times than would like tourists in Portugal can end up with differing prices and services to locals. Ordered plan toasted cheese and another plain toasted ham. Realised later got billed for 2 Tosta Mista ie toasted ham and cheese! Also Americano coffee is same price as double expresso!! Between the two toasties added 1.25 to the bill and the coffee likly another euro. Same town ordered more came to little more than half.. Next town on the journey in a tourist town ordered a lot more yet payed less than half!! This place is expensive and make sure to check each...

We were 4, we went there to have some snacks and coffee. They did not have two different types of crossaints we asked for, and then (having changed the order) they completely forgot one of our foods. Just one cheese toast. Ok. It can happen… but we had to ask 4 times (3 to the same person, and 1 to another) for that! All the times they said “sorry, I’ll bring it” and they again forgot!!! We waited about 30 min for that! Sth that takes 5 min? Luckily that they were not busy, they had very few tables… what can we expect if they are full!??

Btw - it is not cheap...

You're paying for the place. It's quite pricey compared to other places in Amarante. My glass was dusty and had a hair in it and the service was mediocre. This was a Monday night in March, not summer time. Might be historic but the chairs are small and not very comfortable. I found it overrated. 3.60€ for a little beer and a small glass of port wine that tasted a bit bitter, no...
