From the moment we walked in, our experience was wonderful. Our Portugues is not very good yet and we often struggle when in restaurants. If you are in the same position, dont worry your hosts speak excellent english. The selection on the menu is varied and includes vegetarian and vegan options. The starter basket of rustic bread(made with corn flour), marinated olives and special inhouse flavoured butter and local goat cheese was delicious. We had lamb shank and sea bass. The side dishes are amazing and so tasty. They included spinach and turnip, mashed potatoes and baked potatoes done to perfection. The presentation of the food is top notch. To say the sea bass was pretty as a picture is an understatement. We had house red wine which was lovely. The desert!!! Wow! The selection was wide, from cheesecake to chestnut pudding. Absolutely fantastic, and again, presented artfully and served with class by a waiter who prides himself in his noble trade. I highly recommend this restuarant which has a beautiful view of the river and...

I recently dined at a this charming restaurant in Coja with my wife, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food at this establishment was truly top-notch, delivering flavors that delighted our palates with every bite.

What truly elevated the evening was the impeccable service. The staff deserved nothing less than five stars for their attentiveness and warmth. They made us feel like valued guests from the moment we walked in.

Additionally, it was a pleasant surprise to see the owners so involved and friendly. They took the time to chat with us, sharing stories about their journey and the project that brought them here. Their passion for what they do was evident and added a personal touch to the dining experience.

All in all, discovering a place like this in Coja was a great surprise, and it's definitely a hidden gem worth revisiting. We left with full stomachs and even fuller hearts, grateful for the wonderful evening we had at this...

Best place in the entire Coimbra district. I have never been to a better restaurant than this one. I don't have words for the delicious food and the super friendly service. A great menu to choose from. The meat was unbelievably good and the side dishes were perfectly made. On top of that it was very affordable. Cozy & clean place. A real gem hidden in Coja. I advise you to be nice to these people because they work hard and they deserve clients who recognize that since they also make sure their clients have the best experience possible. Beautiful family business. 10/10 will be coming here again and i will recommend this place to everyone who asks for a good restaurant in the...

I think this was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in Portugal, the service, food and wine all top tier! Paulo and his brother have created a fantastic menu that’s clearly been cultivated from being well travelled and sophisticated. We live over an hour away, but will be happily making a trip back at some point soon to revisit. If you’re in Coja, this place is an absolute must.

Principe do Alva is, without any doubt, the best restaurant we visited in 5 days we spent in Portugal. This is a family restaurant, where every meal is carefully curated and tells a different story. We had starters, fish meal, meat meal and so wonderful deserts with local ingredients, designed in this restaurant. If you ever visit Coja or are anywhere in this region, don't miss this gem!
