Ondas Bar Taverna — Restaurant in Caldas da Rainha

We went to take breakfast at 10:30 am and asked for a toast with chicken. The menu didnt say it included cheese and I am intolerant to dairy food. I asked the waiter to change it and he was very polite. He went inside and the owner came outside almost yelling that all their toasts included cheese and that she mentioned it to us on portuguese. It could have been true but the way she did it was very unpolite and aggresive. She told us that we needed yo pay for it... We decided to pay and leave and when we went inside, they were talking bad about us saying that we were crazy (in portuguese). My friend has been leaving here for a year and he understands the language. He confronted the owner, told her not to talk about us that way, asked her to apoligize. We paid for everything and we left the place. Never coming back or...

Hoje fomos à Foz do Arelho com a intenção de passar um bom bocado ,apanhar um pouco de Sol ,comer um gelado e beber um cafezinho e para isso escolhemos o " Ondas Bar Taverna". Chegamos havia 2 mesas livres escolhemos uma delas e sentamos ,mas levantei me e fui a casa de banho isto antes de fazer o pedido. Entrei no dito estabelecimento disse boa tarde, fui até ao balcão vi que havia pastéis de nata e pensei vou pedir 2 cafes e 2 natas ,e então fui á casa de banho. Quando saí da casa de banho qual foi o meu espanto o meu marido estava em pé junto da porta do estabelecimento pois um individuo tinha ido jinto dele e levantou a mesa e disse lhe preciso desta mesa, ao que o meu marido respondeu estou a espera da minha esposa para fazer o pedido não estou sozinho, pois mas preciso desta mesa retorquiu o homem muito áspero e mandou -o sair dizendo você entrou pelo lado errado. E levou outros clientes para a mesa e mandou-os sentar. Nunca tal nos tinha acontecido nós fizemos tudo correto e este indivíduo foi tão mal educado e não é digno de estar á frente dum estabelecimento destes muito menos de estar ao atendimento ao público. Só tenho pena de não ter pedido o Livro de Reclamações, pois mesmo não tendo ainda feito o pedido, deveria ter feito a reclamação.

I really can't say enough about the restaurant. The food is fantastic. I had garlic grilled prawns with excellent buttery toasted bread. I dropped my fork on the floor and had a clean fork almost instantly without asking. Very attentive service by two lovely people. I went for a beautiful walk on the beach and then returned and had hot chocolate with caramel & salt and whipped cream. Splendid...
