A small, inconspicuous but local restaurant on the street. We were hungry and sat down at a table on the terrace. A friendly man came and immediately made us feel like welcome guests. From the small menu we ordered scabbardfish (my husband) and vegetarian pasta. The meal was served quite quickly and we enjoyed it very much. The fish in a thin, delicately spiced pastry shell accompanied by boiled potatoes tossed in olive oil, broccoli and a fried banana (which was so tasty I ordered another portion for my dessert 😊). The tagliatelle cooked perfectly al dente in a creamy sauce. The waiter's friendliness couldn't hide that the kitchen was downright bad. A very limited menu with one fish dish, a piece of meat and a chicken breast. The latter turned out to be a refined fish stick that came straight out of a box from the freezer (like you can find in the supermarket).
And that for a hefty price (by Portuguese standards) of € 12.50 per menu. The fries served with it were greasy and fried in too old oil. Also the fish dish was very greasy and tasted of nothing. Very unfortunate and therefore definitely not...
