We discovered this bar during our first visit to Madeira 4 years ago. It was amazing back then, and it still is. It's a local spot and definitely worth trying. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said they have the best poncha here. Such a lovely bar with super friendly staff.

Leckere Burger und hausgemachte Pommes frites zu einem super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis! Wir hatten außerdem einen Poncha und einen Nikita, beides wurde frisch gemixt und hat hervorragend geschmeckt! Der Service ist zudem total freundlich und äußerst zuvorkommend. Das Ambiente ist modern und einladend gestaltet, auch mit einigen traditionellen Elementen. Dabei sitzt man in einem überdachten Außenbereich mit netten kleinen Holztischen und -stühlen. Parken kann man direkt davor an der Straße bzw. ein Stück weiter oben ist ein kleiner Mercado, der ebenfalls ein paar Parkplätze zur Verfügung hat. Hier kann man wirklich lecker essen oder einfach nur einen Cocktail oder sein Bier genießen! Ganz klare Empfehlung, wir kommen gern wieder!

José Avelino Farinha family, and associates are the best in Europe… I visit the Poncha few times, wasn’t happy with the service, comparing Poncha Lombo Doutor they have stunning service, that’s an honest review even knowing the people in Madeira are not ready to work out in not positive reviews, is all about mentality… To much attitude serving customers, when the reality is customers make...

What a surprise, I was told they make a great poncha here, and do they ever! And for only 2 euros. I also had a nikita (a bit like an hard shake) for the first time, and that was excellent too. Parking on the side of the road, and relatively easy to get to. Overall excellent place if you want a local tavern with great traditional...
