Recanto Snack-Bar — Restaurant in Calheta

We have visited Recanto on november 16th for dinner and had a tasty hamburger from the plate with good fries. Delicious icecream as dessert and the owners are very friendly people. Car park in front of the door. Definitely recommend this restaurant, especially during times of Covid and many other restaurants are crowded with tourists who don't seem to realize a pandemic is going on. The people on Madeira itself,and also the owners of Recanto, are doing a great and responsible job though and also serve tasty food, so don't hesitate and enjoy your lunch and dinner over here. Nothing fancy but a nice atmosphere, mostly locals and good music on the background. Thanks again...

Went here in a hurry having just moved into a house just up the road. I didn't have enough cash to pay for what I ordered, and found out too late that they didn't accept card, but they told me to come and pay them later. Absolutely lovely people, and the food was great and very cheap too,...

Sò 3 estrelas porque a comida estava mesmo boa e bem servida. Mas o serviço foi mesmo fraco! Nem um sorriso! Nem um obrigado! Chegamos cedo e então bebemos um copo, e depois pedimos uma lapas grelhadas que estavam mesmo boas. Nem trouxe guardanapos para limpar as mãos, tive que pedir e foi o senhor que estava a cozinhar que deu. Para ter a carta tambem tive que pedir de novo. E quando preguntei qual era o prato do dia, só respondeu brevemente "sopa de trigo" virou as costas e foi embora. Sendo turista, não sei o que é esse prato, nem tive tempo de preguntar, e nem pediu o que a gente queria comer. Serviu várias pessoas que chegaram depois de nós. Foi preciso chamar para dizer o que queriamos comer. Quando fui pagar, nem um obrigado! Eu costumo sempre deixar uma gorjeta, e desta vez nem 1 centimo que deixei.
