We visited this restaurant based on its exceptional reviews, but the experience was actually not that great.

Location: The space is very small and cramped. If the restaurant is busy, you’ll find yourself dining uncomfortably close to other tables. Service: The service was steady and efficient, with plates arriving about 5 minutes after ordering. Food: While the food was good, it wasn’t exceptional. The shrimp stood out as the best item we tried, but the portion was disappointingly small—just 7 shrimp in a shrimp-and-polvo mix supposedly meant for two people. Must say that the polvo was pretty abundant, even tho i would have liked a better balance between the two Pricing: At first glance the prices seem very good, but the portions are misleading. This was a great find on a road trip day in Madeira. At 4:30pm we were able to be seated at a table right away under an umbrella. The limpets were the best I had on the island, and the flavour was unreal - I would recommend getting bread with it to dip. We ordered a 1L passion fruit sangria and it was the perfect amount for the two of us, and very good. We order a seafood platter for two and chose the octopus and calamari. The octopus came with sauce and onions, and the calamari was breaded. I wouldn’t get the calamari again, as it was breaded, and instead would get the shrimp as our second seafood. Small cozy bar in a small cozy village with ocean view. It was here that I had best bolo do caco while on Madeira. Menu offers also fish of the day (from 1pm), octopus salad, shrimps, awesome orange-maracuja juice, amazing steak sandwich and of course lapas. Owner is the sweetest man doubling and tripling his efforts to serve everyone as fast as possible considering number of guest. You can just feel he cares about your time here.
