Good food and good service! Generous portions as well. We went there during our short stay in Madeira as we were very impressed by the squid and prawns that we had to make a return trip. They also gave us free Madeira wine to try as well.
We also had a minor hiccup with someone in our group left the passport in the restaurant after dinner. We realised it 12+am past closing time and we were flying the next morning before the restaurant open. Managed to contact the owner via chat and he came back to the restaurant within 10 minutes to pass us the wallet/passport. We are truly thankful for his quick response else otherwise it would have disrupted our plans badly.

The fresh fish we ordered were grilled until dry, the vegetables were not very tasty and the atmosphere is more of a village pub than a restaurant. Lots of locals getting drunk and yelling and smoking at the tables in the front. The outside seating is next to a hill street so you get a solid plume of diesel exhaust every time someone has to make a hill start there (happens often…). Rubbish service, attitude of people miserable, no positivity, big changes! Big trouble for cyclists to let the bike safe in dis aria and all above come in this restaurant, SOUL E MAR!
