Good food and good service! Generous portions as well. We went there during our short stay in Madeira as we were very impressed by the squid and prawns that we had to make a return trip. They also gave us free Madeira wine to try as well.

We also had a minor hiccup with someone in our group left the passport in the restaurant after dinner. We realised it 12+am past closing time and we were flying the next morning before the restaurant open. Managed to contact the owner via chat and he came back to the restaurant within 10 minutes to pass us the wallet/passport. We are truly thankful for his quick response else otherwise it would have disrupted our plans badly.

One of those places you go once and never again. Not because it’s terrible but because there are better options around. The fresh fish we ordered were grilled until dry, the vegetables were not very tasty and the atmosphere is more of a village pub than a restaurant. Lots of locals getting drunk and yelling and smoking at the tables in the front. The outside seating is next to a hill street so you get a solid plume of diesel exhaust every time someone has to make a hill start there (happens often…). Well, after 4 days spending all the way of north side in my tour around the island by bike, my first stop in 5 day it was in Paul do Mar! Completely diffent in terms of people! Rubbish service, attitude of people miserable, no positivity, big changes! Big trouble for cyclists to let the bike safe in dis aria and all above come in this restaurant, SOUL E MAR! In my trying to live the bike save, speeding nicely, proactive attitude, they told me this restaurant is for local people(a guy trying to show me how is the boss).
