GreenSide — Restaurant in Coimbra

😊: A beautiful little studio apartment the 'Green' apartment is bright and has a great amount of sunlight through the windows in the afternoon. There is a mini fridge, microwave, plates and cutlery and a wine bottle opener. Vital! The bathroom is compact and with fully functional shower and toilet. There is a really handy little supermarket a hundred yards away, turn right as you walk out the door. The host was very helpful and was contactable instantly by phone to speak to. Coimbra is a beautiful city and Studios Greenside is a lovely place to stay while you are there. Highly recommended. We loved our brief stay.. 😢: We had a slight issue with another couple who thought they had booked our room, as the keys were left in the door for guests to let themselves in once you have entered through the main door. My gf and I had lunch here the other day and it was delicious. There are mostly vegan and some vegetarian dishes from the buffet. For around 10euros you'll get a soup, bread, a generous plate of the mains and a drink. If you're still hungry or craving something sweet I highly recommend going for some desert, the coco-bean-pie was mind-blowing! The owner was super friendly and told us she even took a trip to the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world. If you don't need AC you can enjoy your meal on a quiet terrasse out the back, surrounded by bananas, lemons and pears. I walked for 30 minutes (mostly up hill) to get to Green Side. I arrived to find they were not open, I was so disappointed. They advertise online as being open at 9 AM. I was not going to be deterred and waited the 1 1/2 hours until they opened at 12:00.

Despite my lack of Portuguese, they were extremely helpful and friendly toward me. With several options to choose from, I asked which was the favorite of the staff working. I went with what the woman said her favorite was and it did not disappoint!
