Lung Wah (Macaense) — Restaurant in Coimbra

My husband is from Hong Kong and misses Chinese food in Portugal. We stopped here for lunch and had a delicious, homestyle Cantonese meal of pork with vegetables and cuttlefish with onions and bamboo shoots. After chatting with the owner, we found out that the restaurant was opened by her father, a famous football player from Macau, over 40 years ago, and was in fact the oldest Chinese restaurant in central Portugal. We moved into this neighborhood six months ago and barely noticed this restaurant. It's not easily seen from the street. But last night, we decided to give it a try. Oh the food... One of the best i've ever had. The Chinese springrolls are made from scratch. Normally i'm not a fan, but these transcend taste. We had chicken chopsuye and sweet and sour pork.
