This is a great restaurant for getting traditional homemade food! If you dine here you’ll get the regional experience, which might come off as unexpected if you are a foreign tourist. You’ll be served a collection of traditional starters right away, without asking for them. (Please be mindful that if you eat them you’ll play for them at the end, which is normal in Portugal). Next, the waiter will describe to you a series of regional dishes for you to choose. The menu is also on the wall, but don’t expect a great english translation. The food is quite good, and definitely feels home-cooked. Can’t recommend it enough if you want an authentic taste of Serra da Estrela. If you touch it you pay for it, even if you've just had a nibble and didn't like it. Absolutely shameful way of increasing your bill. In the end the bill says 'starter, starter, starter refreshment, dish...' and you have no idea what you are paying for.
