Unfortunately, our visit to Flor de Sal was a real letdown. This restaurant had been on my list for quite some time, so expectations were high, but the experience fell far short, especially considering the price point.
The atmosphere is the one real highlight: tasteful, inviting, and well thought out. But that’s where the positives ended.
Service was inconsistent. One server stood out as excellent, attentive and professional. Another was fine but disengaged. The third was honestly quite poor and left us feeling like we were an inconvenience.
The food was the biggest disappointment. For a restaurant with this reputation and pricing, the dishes lacked flavor, finesse, and attention to detail. Nothing stood out, and some items were just poorly executed.
Even small details were off. The bathroom light, on a motion sensor, turned off after just a few seconds. I had to wave my hand in the air repeatedly just to avoid standing in complete darkness, a surprising and concerning oversight for any establishment, let alone one at this level.
All in all, we left disappointed. Flor de Sal has the setting and potential, but based on this experience, it seriously misses the mark where it...
Read moreOutstanding! We’ve just had a lovely lunch at this delightful restaurant. Super attentive staff, absolutely sublime food, and a wonderful atmosphere. A real cut above most, but without a silly additional price added. The starter platter looked really lovely, but knowing we were a little pushed for time (with a train to catch) we opted just for the local fresh cheese. Delicious. Then our steaks came …. oh my days! Cooked to perfection and with perfect sauces. It’s quite hard to find a really good succulent and tender steak in Portugal, but these were outstanding. My companion had fries, I had a salad. Even though we were full we couldn’t resist a dessert. My panacotta with berries was perfection (such a wobble!); my companion’s chocolate mouse with salted caramel was too sweet for his taste, but was clearly beautifully executed. The small carafe of house wine we had with our meal was also excellent. The bill came to 50€ for the two of us, and was worth every cent. We will definitely be...

We recently had the most incredible dining experience at Flor de Sal in Entroncamento. Our family of four (2 adults, 2 children) were on a road trip and decided to stop for lunch. This restaurant was a total hit!
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The restaurant's quirky decor was a delightful surprise. The food was absolutely outstanding. We enjoyed a delicious selection of starters, perfectly cooked mains, and mouthwatering desserts. The natural juices and Sangria de Vinho do Porto were especially memorable.
The service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We felt so welcome and appreciated.
While the price was a bit higher than typical Portuguese restaurants, it was well worth it for the quality of the food and service. Flor de Sal is a must-visit for anyone in the area. We would...
