We had Bida da Vazia Grelhado (beef with chips, rice, and kidney beans) for two. €28.50. It came with 3 huge beef steaks, cooked perfectly (rare to our request...often when we ask for rare we get medium). The meat was delicious and tender. We ordered olives and bread but didn't really have needed to. 14€ litre of red house wine in carafe. Yes more than usual carafe price, but there was a choice of two, one from Estremoz, one from another local town, so not just a supermarket wine box (which we often enjoy too). Such a nice place. Small family run restaurant near the Rossio square where the Estremoz Saturday market takes place, this is a gem of a find! No reservations can be made, so you will have to wait your turn and will be allocated a time slot at busy times, it only has about 10 tables....but my word!!! the wait is worth every second. Food just too tasty to write about, portions are gigantuan! and service second to none, friendly and warm. Prices very reasonable indeed. 50 euros for 2 of us for mains, starters, coffee and a bottle of wine. We loved it! The food is earnest Portugese fare and delicious....

The restaurant is small and it was full of people, it was Sunday and there not too many other options nearby. So, we decided to wait to get a table. The staff was not really friendly but the service was fast and the food was ok. We really enjoyed the lagartos de porco, very tender and tasty. However, the migas alentejanas with pork where flavorless and needed to be marinated for much more time and the veal was really tough, dificult to cut and eat.
