O Caseiro2 — Restaurant in Faro

We visited this restaurant a total of four times during our stay at Faro Campervan Park, on each occasion the only foreign clients were from the camper van park all other guests were local, this in itself tells you all you really need to know. On the first occasion we ordered Cataplana Algarve, a fabulous dish of pork and clams. The next visit we ordered Seafood Rice outstanding and so much we simply could not eat it all. On this second visit we met Pedro who we imagine owns or at least manages the place (all the other staff were very deferential to him) who was a great host. We said we were coming the following night with a relative and were told by Pedro “ . . .no menu for you tomorrow as I will cook a special meal. . .” The following night we arrived and were greeted by Pedro but not allowed menus. The dish he prepared was seared salmon on a bed of (Portuguese) spinach with potato slices. What a stunning meal - simple but stunning. On our fourth visit my wife was going to ask for the salmon dish again but we eventually ordered seafood cataplana for three persons. It was superb with so much fish and seafood that we, sadly, could not eat it all. Imagine our surprise when we got the bill to find we had been given and charged for a two person cataplana. We have eaten in many, many restaurants in Portugal and this has got to be the best, for food, for friendliness of staff and for cost - thank you everyone...

Fantastic little restaurant in Faro, Portugal. Literally the best food we had in the whole week we spent in the Algarve.

100m away from Pine House that we booked on Booking dot com. We just needed some food before an early morning flight. So we didn't venture into town. What a win!

Incredible authentic Portuguese food in a little suburb, but that's always where you find the best places. If you've ever eaten in Rome or NYC then you will know the best food and service is never in the fancy looking places.

We sat outside in the sunshine. The owner Pedro's english could have been native.

We were treated to tapas as a starter whilst waiting for the main course.

Service all night was excellent. If you read my other reviews you will see I'm not always a 5* reviewer. As likely to give 1 or 2* if dissatisfied but honestly couldn't fault this little gem in Faro.

I was excited for my last dinner before my flight. Generally it looked good and very nice but I realised in some point that in my salad there was a worm and then I send it back to kitchen. They apologised due to that. I was like it might happen sometimes and kept eating. The fish was good as well fresh and later I ordered chocolate mouse. First, I realised the mouse is not freshly made. Second it was kind of melted and very heavily tasted like an egg, later I realised there is a dead mosquito on top.
