Absolutely shocking, after being shown to our table and ordering our meal, we waited for what seamed like forever, the wrong food was brought to the table for my partner and after trying to get anyone's attention, we were asked oh so do you not want that one, we can cook you what you want, it won't take long... my husband stated that hopefully not as mine would be cold, they took his away and I started to eat mine... a Caesar Salad... terrible stale croutons, overcooked dry chicken, overcooked bacon (prosciutto) it resembled a black piece of biltong beef! Subsequently I left it... the side order of chips were OK, but now cold... my husbands meal came out and I had obviously left everything on my plate, but the waiter said nothing... after again trying to get anyone's attention (baring on mind the restaurant was empty), we ordered another drink, the waitress asked if we had finished, to which we said yes, she never asked if anything was ok.. after being left yet again another waiter came and asked if we wanted the bill and was all OK, I stated no... I didnt eat a thing and my husband left half of his meal due to the time it had taken.... the bill arrived with nothing taken off and after again stating my meal was inedible and the service was shocking, nothing but an I am sorry... I do understand things go wrong, but its how things are corrected... the poor chap who seemed to be running the show, was understanding, but offered no refund or discount... I would avoid until they sort the kitchen staff out and get new front of house staff..... for drinks and a beautiful view, it is great, but so are lots of other restaurants on the island that...
Read morePersonally, there were 3 waiters we got to know. One was incredibly attentive and nice. The atmosphere and the view is stunning and I‘m sure some dishes on the menu are great, but I was extremly disappointed in the „Pizza Magaritta“. It‘s not only 14,75€ but you could clearly see that the pizza is bought frozen from the supermarket (and the chef put on some more cheese, which was way to much, and fresh tomatoes). Offering frozen pizza is arguebly a little inelegant, but having to pay almost 15€ for that is simply unacceptable. We tried to communicate our problem but the waitress told us that she is „actually not sure“ - no further information or compensation. There are way better options in Funchal, so please if u go there: Do not take Pizza there, it‘s way to overpriced!!! But you also have to be aware that it‘s not the waiters/waitresses fault, I think the managment is obligated to do...
Read moreThey proposed a menù of three main courses (with sides) preceded by an aperitif and beverage included for 38€ p/person. Dinner was served as a “buffet”. Aperitif, main courses and sides cold. Aperitif had just few pieces of “rissois” (cold!), some “bolo do caco” (typical madeirian bread) and fresh cheese. Main courses were pieces of oven roasted chicken, pieces of grilled beef, and codfish with cream, also in this case not at the right temperature. Sides were boiled vegetables, some roasted potatoes, salad and fried “milho”, not at the right temperature. Wines were very poor quality as well as all the raw materials used for preparing the food. The worst restaurant ever experienced in Madeira. I had the obligation to attend at the organised event and they won’t see me and my friends...
