Snack-Bar Navio Castelo — Restaurant in Funchal

It's a no-nonsense bar with a dining section. It's very 'local' (we were the only foreigners) but everyone appears to be equally welcome.

Good selection of beers, wines and spirits, and a very limited food menu (vegetarians would struggle here) but what they cook tastes great.

If you're staying at Quinta Bella Vista, it's just around the corner and offers a break from the nice but rather formal atmosphere on offer at the hotel.

Lovely calm atmosphere, not the place to be if you're planning on a noisy night out but a very good place for a quiet drink and some decent food made in a traditional way. Couldn't recommend more if you're a more respectful visitor....
