Gare Story Gastropub — Restaurant in Gondomar

I was very pleasantly surprised to discover this new gem in my part of Rio Tinto, which in my limited knowledge ( I’ve only been visiting for a short time) I’m sorry to say doesn’t have much in terms of affordable, stylish and excellent food and drink options. But this is the new Portugal. So listen up locals; from a seasoned traveler; you have an international quality gastropub on your doorstep so give them your support or they’ll move elsewhere! The decor and vibe wouldn’t be out of place in London or NewYork and the food options are amazing; Indian, Thai and Portuguese.! What? I tried the delicious samosas at €7 and one of the specialty chefs brought me a specialty starter to try which was also delicious. I retuned next night to get a small take out and the true test of any Indian restaurant; their Naan bread. I ordered it to go with a rib starter. Fantastic. The naan didn’t disappoint, however, with its light cheese filling, it was a little unusual and more filling than I expected, but still very good. At this new Gastropub, the beer options are great and they have a spectacular array of wines, good thing I didn’t even go down that road.. so I encourage you to support these exciting new enterprises here in the outer suburbs around Porto and visit. There is also an interesting conceptual element and connection in the decor ( ask the bar staff) with the history of Rio Tinto, as well as a nice Paul McCartney connection, who wrote Yesterday while in a car from Porto to Lisbon . An incredible dining experience at Gare Story Gastro Club in Porto.

The atmosphere was inviting and the food was absolutely delicious. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, making every bite a delight.

A special mention to Swakit, the guy who served us. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and had a fantastic attitude that made us feel welcome and well cared for throughout our meal. His recommendations were spot on, and he ensured that every detail was perfect.

Let's start with the kindness that welcomes you when you go inside this place. Everyone has a smile and takes you to show this amazing bar/restaurant. You are introduced to an overwhelmingly incredible room with high ceilings and dimmed lights. You can pick the super comfy lounge area close to the bar or sit in the chairs for dining.
