5 stars for the food and effort by the culinary team. 1 star for service and front of house staff.

I'll start by saying that the food was really amazing and we could feel the level of effort and creativity committed by the chef and his team. Guineafowl with brown butter gnocchi was very delicious and the lamb tenderloin with sweet potato puree was truly special. In addition to the starters and amuse-bouche, it was shaping to be a memorable experience.

As for the rest, I had made reservations well ahead of time and indicated it's a special occasion and wish to sit as close as possible to the view. I confirmed that again on the day of. When I arrived, I didn't feel welcomed by the hostess who simply verified our reservation and handed us off to another member who walked us to our tables at the back of the seating area. We expressed interest to sit on a table without any interrupted view as was requested during reservation. A table was available but the staff member refused as it was reserved for beverages only. We agreed to be seated where designated. About an hour later, a family came in and kept negotiating with the same staff member until he agreed to seat them where we had requested to sit and it was just painful to watch. When politely confronting the staff member, he attempted to make up a story why it was an exception. Sufficed to say, we left...

From start to finish, Miranda’s delivered excellence in every detail. The service was top-notch — professional, attentive, and warm. The staff took incredible care to understand and accommodate my gluten allergy, ensuring everything I ate was completely safe without compromising on flavor. Their attention to detail really stood out, and the gluten-free bread they served was hands-down the best I’ve ever had!

We sat on the covered patio, which featured lovely white and neutral-toned decor that created a relaxed, elegant vibe — though it was a touch warm on the day we visited. The ambiance was elevated even more by a fantastic live musician playing upbeat, yacht-style background music that added a cool, coastal energy without being intrusive.

We shared several dishes, and each one was outstanding. The tuna tartare, beef carpaccio, prawns with polenta, and the pork dish were all beautifully presented and perfectly portioned. Every bite was packed with flavor and finesse.

Another highlight was the wine service — incredibly knowledgeable staff who guided us through local wine selections and offered table-side decanting with a perfect pour.

Miranda’s is a gem and an absolute must-visit in Lagos. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a refined yet relaxed dining experience, especially if you have dietary restrictions — they truly go...

Aujourd’hui, nous sommes le 1er janvier 2025, à 12h30 précises. Nous avons rendez-vous au bord de la mer, à Lagos, au Portugal, dans cet endroit que j’appelais la “Maison Rouge” pendant la covid-19 ,Cet endroit, qui m’a tant réconfortée pendant ces années difficiles, reste gravé dans ma mémoire. Pour échapper à la grave crise sanitaire de Paris, j’avais choisi Lagos, au Portugal, comme mon havre de paix. La vie tranquille à la campagne, au bord de la mer, m’a offert mes plus beaux souvenirs. Je passais mon temps entre quelques restaurants pittoresques, où je savourais des thés, des cafés ou de petites collations. La “Maison Rouge” était l’un de mes lieux favoris, notamment pour ses apéritifs, ses desserts, et son café que je sirotais en trois petites gorgées, à chaque fois un véritable délice. Ainsi, ma série L‘Aria Orientales X : 《C’est la vie 》une collection de récits courts, a vu le jour pour m’accompagner durant mes années de solitude et de détresse. Aujourd’hui, après la réouverture, je suis revenue. Le paysage est resté identique, tout aussi magnifique qu’avant. Mais le personnel du restaurant a complètement changé. Ces visages chaleureux, amicaux et familiers d’autrefois ont tous disparu, remplacés par une équipe différente, comme si le monde entier avait changé. Les gens aspirent toujours à l’amour, à la paix. Cependant, la serveuse (elle), sous divers prétextes, a refusé que notre famille, composée de jeunes et d’anciens, s’installe à l’intérieur du restaurant, bien que celui-ci soit vide, pour nous abriter du froid glacial. Nous avons été contraints de rester à l’extérieur, exposés à un vent mordant, et son attitude était franchement désagréable. Si seulement elle avait eu un tout petit sourire, ne serait-ce qu’un peu de chaleur dans son comportement, cela aurait fait toute la différence ! Changer les choses est en réalité si simple : il suffit de sourire. Sourire ! Encore et toujours sourire ! La vie, c’est ainsi. Dieu t’a offert un sourire, et si tu choisis de l’adopter, ta vie deviendra une vie pleine de sourires. Sinon, ce sera tout le contraire.
