Senses restaurant, Cascade — Restaurant in Lagos

We came in for dinner on a Sunday at 7pm, which was great as we had the restaurant all to ourselves. We were seated close to the kitchen, along the white display cabinet which was perfect - close to the action, yet secluded enough to feel private and intimate.

Our wine was delivered in a nifty rolling ice cart. A wonderful detail that went with the overall theme of the space. And then we were taken on a journey through the chef's tasting menu. While something tends to get lost in the meal-preps that most kitchens do, we were delighted to observe that all the offerings here were being made fresh. The food was simply delicious.

The manager and his trainee were delightful hosts. He was dressed on theme and came by our table to check in and share some details about the dishes and the wine. We also appreciated the extra treat at the end that he brought for my wife as we were celebrating her birthday. A wonderful experience all in all....

We did the 11 course chefs menu with the wine pairing and highly recommend it to anyone who loves upscale food and wine. We have been fortunate to have done several chefs menus at Michelin star restaurants over the years and this dining experience was at the very top of our list. It was arguably one of the best meals of our lives. Each dish uniquely highlighted Portugal’s regional flavors beautifully paired with wines from the area. It’s such a surprise, the restaurant presented kind of low key, we wasn’t expect any Michelin style dinner but it’s certainly over our expectations. Each and every details are carefully crafted!
