Duro de Matar is a true metropolitan club food experience with unusual high ambitions and magnificent standards in so many aspects: it is outstanding spicy Mexican quality and taste, with organic produce and ethically sourced meat, with personal service and digital execution, industrial basement decor with the most fabulous DJ sound system, where the loudest lounge music allows easy conversation; and they even have their own radio station with a window to the studio!!!!
We were two for an early dinner and instead of the impressive cocktail list, we chose a natural Spanish rose to accompany a series of small very tasty and servings with the most tasty tacos and guacamole and a choice of 5 deliciously spicy sauces plus a brownie with chilli fruit for dessert!
Damien, from Gringos, runs a really tight and passionate food experience ship, that is so well placed in the Beato Innovation Center!

Sundays turn things up even more with urban events, pop-ups, and unexpected surprises that make it impossible not to return. Last but not least there is even an in-house radio station, designed like a futuristic spaceship, broadcasts its magic in real-time, adding to the one-of-a-kind energy that makes DDM the best Mexican...

The regular salsas were tasty but not spicy. I did ask for their hottest one and it was 🔥The corn tortillas were very good and the menu has something for everyone. The standouts for me were the mushroom birria and the fennel and pistachio mole verde (in my photos). My friend loved the chicken flautas with mole negro. Guac was good but the portion size was tiny. The marg was super limey clearly made with fresh juice. Also tried the paloma but it was not to my taste. Too sweet for me.
It’s def not traditional Tex Mex but it was delicious. One of the owners is from El Paso, so the soul was there. Definitely...
