So I actually don’t like to leave bad reviews but I came here yesterday with my family, we booked a table for 4 inside and when we arrived they had us waiting for over 20 min to sit inside and then 30 minutes to just prepare the table. The food took 1 hour (so we arrived at 13:40 and the food arrived at 15:10pm). The food was just so bad 😭 we were so sad because the reviews were so good and we were eager to try a new good place to eat and they had us waiting for more than 1 hour for the food and the taste was very mediocre. The fish soup was overcooked, the pasta inside was overcooked, the fish was not good… well. The moqueca de camarão was also very bland with no flavor. I hope it was just our experience but it wasn’t a good one unfortunately.

I went to the aquarium of Vasco da Gama and decided to drop by and have some food. To start things off, this is my first time having bacalhau so I don't have an objective standard. And I don't usually like eggs(I wasn't expecting them), which impacted how much I enjoyed the food. Portions are pretty huge for good prices though, if you stay or live near Algés/Belem you could stop by. In general this is a pretty nice neighborhood café and I had a good time with the staff. They have a very wide and affordable selection of cocktails that I regret not choosing from. p.s. Andre and the others if you read this thanks for my last dinner in Portugal. I had a good time with you guys.

A wonderful lil’ tasca eatery that’s well-worth a visit if you’re looking for delicious Portuguese and Spanish fare at a fairly reasonable price. The Spanish Mussels provide a hefty and tasty starter while the grilled squid (whole with wings) and traditional steak are both exceptional entrees. I cannot compliment the staff enough for their kind service throughout our meal. You can’t go wrong with Perola de Belem’s relaxed, non-touristy, and unassuming atmosphere after a long day in the throng of downtown Lisbon.

While the food was great, and my server friendly, I was unhappy with the overall experience. I booked the codfish, which came on a sizzling plate. The friendly server put it right in front of me. While I immediately moved back with my chair, my trousers were sprayed full of oil within a fraction of a second. The server sad sorry, but I felt he was mostly indifferent. When paying the bill, I showed him again my stained trousers. He was now very apologetic, but I was surprised that I was still expected to pay the bill in full. I explained that I was disappointed by this, my server discussed this with the other personnel, but concluded that I would still need to pay the full price. I had to go back to my hotel, change my trousers, and hope that I'll be able to remove the stains. While things can happen, I think this situation could have been handled better by showing at least a bit of goodwill that goes...
