During a football match Portugal-France, we were seated by the staff at a four-people table even though we were 8. The place was packed full.
We waited over 30 mins for two beers and got verbally attacked by the waiter named Zafer when asking for news on them saying they "had too many tables to serve" (wrong point because if you open a restaurant for a certain number of tables, you should be able to offer a proper service to said number of tables).
We then ordered some food (four snacks, not even 8 full courses) and proceded to wait again for many minutes and never received it.
At a certain point, an old f**k complained to us that we were too many even though we were taking real care of taking no more space than four people and to not take up the space of the table next to us. The man took a picture of our table against our will and we asked him to delete it, which he didn't do.
Half a minute later, the rude waiter asked us to leave to which we responded that if we left, we wouldn't be paying. The waiter said "I don't need your money". We then left and were walking back to our car when we were run after by the dear Zafer asking us to pay the bill and threatening us to call security if we did not pay, even the food that we never received. We tried to reason with him about telling us that we didn't have to pay but we still ended up paying for only what we got at our table.
I insist on the fact that we were told to leave without paying by the waiter and it is only after he probably got put back in his place by his manager that he ran after us.
Overall, everytime we ordered something, he seemed annoyed to take the order and not being kind or professional.
Something that he told us was that he had "many customers pissing him off". I'm sorry, it's not our fault if you don't like your job. This really shows what the waiters think about...
Read moreExtremely overpriced food of low quality coupled with terrible service. To start with, the table we were seated at was completely unstable and thus unsafe for children. When I asked if it can be leveled / balanced, I was told it was not possible because it was broken and could not be fixed. Re-seating was not an option due the place being fully booked for a special event. The restaurant positions itself as catering to English speakers yet most staff don't speak even basic English - it took talking to 5 different people to find out whether the tuna used to prepare tuna tostadas was fresh or canned, and if fresh, whether it was seared rare (i.e. to remain raw on the inside) or cooked to be well done. I even showed them pictures of the dish to clarify what I was trying to ask, but 4 out of 5 people had no clue nor had they any idea what the dish normally looks like when it is served, which is unacceptable. When the food was served, the server didn't bring any plates hence we couldn't start eating. Out of 3 waiters I flagged, no one would help me because, according to them, I needed to talk to my assigned waiter who was nowhere to be found for good 20 minutes while the food was getting cold. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience, the only saving grace being a special kids Halloween event we attended during our visit that the kids very much enjoyed. Read moreVery disappointing visit to Danos tonight, repeat customer and unfortunately tonight will put an end to that. Firstly we were a large group with small children, and we booked a table outside. When we arrived there was live music which is usually a pleasant surprise, however tonight it was absolutely deafening, a 6.30pm dinner where you couldn’t even have a conversation with the person next to you it was so loud. Was initially served promptly, however waited 1.5 hrs for mains, 25 mins for second round of drinks( had to ask three times), food was mediocre, and not hot enough. The cherry on top was after paying the bill, thanking the staff, and about to leave we just politely mentioned to the front of house female employee that the music was a little too loud for an early dinner booking with children, it might be an idea to mention this to people when booking it or even just turn it down a small bit so people can converse. We were very rudely told “this is a bar” and that “ we were given the best table in the house that other people wanted and that they could’ve given it to someone else”.
