This place has delicious food. I wanted to vegetable soup but we came between siesta hours so the kitchen was closed except for chicken, salad and fries. The chef brought out some vegetables which was nice. (Vegetarian here). I see a lot of reviews saying it’s overpriced for the amount of chicken. My family got the chicken and thought it was delicious. It may be pricey for portugal but compared to what we are used to in the USA it’s cheap. The staff were really friendly. We were the only table since it was the in between time. We arrived at 5 and I believe siesta is from 3-6pm. The fries 🍟 were delicious. Crispy on the outside and really salty. I liked the green salad. It’s only lettuce and cucumbers with a good vinaigrette. The lettuce 🥬 was good but not the best I’ve had. We tried all of the desserts. I liked to sorbet in a frozen lemon and the caramel desert was amazing. The worst chocolate cake in the world was pretty good. It had a strange texture but it tasted great! I also had a double expresso decaffeinated. We had some of the house red wine and that was good. I’m not a big wine drinker but I had half a glass. The appetizer with olives 🫒, garlic carrots, butter and bread was average. The olives were a little bitter. I really liked the inside decor. There were cartoon chickens everywhere and bright paintings with matching lights all over the restaurant. It’s not a great place for vegetarians but had a cool vibe inside so it’s worth going...
Read moreWe came for dinner, 4 of us, when we saw the price for half a chicken (10,90€), I thought “we’ll, to be robbed for half a chicken, I rather have a steak, so I ordered a pepper sauce steak, which is something I love, but when the steak comes, very thin I have to say, the meat was really not good quality, and the sauce…. How come a restaurant thay charge you 23,50€ for a steak, can make you a sauce straight from a powder from the supermarket ? As soon as the beef arrived to the table, I could smell it from far away, and when I tasted it, it was just horrible, I could feel the taste for a long couple minutes. I said to the waiter if it was possible to take the steak back and make some sauce without that cheap powder and he said no, he said that if he order a new one from the kitchen it would come exactly the same (I see no flexibility here) So we ordered a steak just grilled, which comes as you can see in the picture… without anything apart from half a lemon, ridiculous for a restaurant that charges a fortune on food !!!! Also, the first waiters that came to my table, didn’t speak any Portuguese so you can see this is a perfect tourist trap, be careful or you would fall into this one easily ! For me, and for my guests, it’s a definitely no come back, doesn’t worth the 40€ per head that we paid ! For that amount of money, you can go to a...
Read moreI wish there was better sign than excellent! This is by far the best restaurant in the whole of Portugal. I have been ere over 15 times now and I don't even live in Portugal. Every time we have gone to Portugal we have ALWAYS been to SR. Frango's, we have been welcomed by the fantastic staff and it doesn't stop there. It all starts from the starter. When you get seated, they come over with your appetiser which is bread and butter, olives, and a delicious carrot, garlic, oil and a hint of parsley.
For your main you get a wide variety of choice's such as pasta, piri piri chicken, steak, tomato salad and a lot more
I strongly recommend Piri piri chicken with a tomato salad. It is lovely and fresh with a juicy taste in your mouth. The tomato salad also has onion in it and creates a lovely warm sensation in your mouth.
For dessert there is everything. from cute little ice cream pots for your children. (Which comes with a little toy which is amazing for diving for in the pool!) There is also a lovely chocolate cake which come's with either ice cream on the side or a amazing strawberry sculpture.
Sr. Frango's is defiantly the best restaurant Algarve has to offer! Go there and take advantage of their amazing...
