I love the shack. However...3 hours to wait for a table is not okay. Even 2.5 to wait for a seat outside the restaurant, not okay. I understand you can't book and I do understand why they do it that way. However, people get there in the morning, put their names down and then come back when they get a text. It's the equivalent to putting your towel on a sunbed at a hotel, that sunbed is never coming available! When people do finally sit down for a meal they don't leave becuase they're enjoying the cocktails, food and atmosphere (which is amazing) but dont give other people waiting false hope on when they will get a table. Just turn people away.
If you can't get a table and are told to wait, no worries!!! Have some cocktails while stood in the sun with no where sit or lean. It's a never ending cycle of people waiting. This was on the 24th of August (Thursday) at 2:30 so I know that's a day with the live band and it's the summer holidays however we waited 3 hours and couldn't just stand in the sun longer. I don't think it would of been as bad if there were seats. We were then told we still had an "hour left", honestly we couldn't be bothered to wait any longer. People were not leaving, they were happy, comfortable and having a great time. We ordered bar snack which honestly were really nice and then we headed off. We said it, but the waiter told us that we had to pay extra for extra white wine…. 35 Euro for a tasteless sangria and had to pay extra for more wine…. Come on…. We said no thanks and said we don’t want it… We ordered the burger which should be black angus…. The burger was totally dry and tasteless…. The bacon was overdone and with black burnt sides like the beef. It has never been black angus. It was thin standard frozen industrial beef which was so dry. The quality of the beef was a scandal…. The chips was also standard industrial chips from the freezer…. It is not fair to take 18 euros for this…. We ate some of it because we was hungry. We said it to the waiter, but since we had ate something of it they couldn’t do anything about it.
We saw others had nachos and it was so premade with premade guacamole and salsa… It’s a nice location but some of the worst food I ever had…. And honestly I don’t understand the good reviews. Read moreThe place and service are, usually, great. However, the previous time we were there, we had a very unusual treatment... We usually go there when we are lounging at the Watersports with the children. We go to the schak explain and point out where we are, choose what to eat and then return a few minutes later to eat, in order not to "force" our 6 yo twins to sit and wait for the food, which, dispute some of their best offers, can take over 30/45 minutes to come to the table. And BTW we're talking about 12:00 or 12:15 pm which is the time we usually get lunch to the kids. There were only about 3 tables taken and the waitress that my wife spoke to was being quite rude and inconvenient. We are very sorry that the situation was too upsetting to get her name, or we would complain about her. Regarding the whole situation, we decided to just skip the place that day and went elsewhere. A bit annoying since it was my birthday and we were counting on staying longer by the lake and all, but anyway. There will be other birthdays to celebrate, we hope, but...
