Yue Gang 粵港 Canton Restaurant — Restaurant in Loulé

Traditional atmosphere for a Chinese restaurant with great service. I had the eggplant w/ sea salt and noodles with vegetables...but the only vegetable in the noodles were cooked onions! Mushrooms,too, but they aren't a vegetable. The eggplant was served in a sizzling clay pot and with a flavorful, slightly spicy sauce and was quite good, but it, too, was filled with raw onion -- almost more onion than eggplant! Husband had a spicy sizzling chicken dish and he said it was good, but not great. Again, a lot of onion. He did say the chicken & corn soup was very good. Well prepared food, good service, nothing all that special about the place in our opinion based on the other reviews. If we're in the area and in the mood for Chinese, probably would go again, but not on our radar...

Eat her tonight was greeted well but on ordering drinks the young girl did not understand , a older male came and English was better and took or order + starters came quickly then soon after a heated plate arrived but took another 25-30 mins for mains by which time the plate was then cold , the young girl was obcessed with removing plates from our table when we wasn’t finished and her body odour was not pleasant either - not a good experience- food was only ok too so will not be returning - they need to train their staff on how to serve - another couple walked out after their starters paid for what they had complaining service had been appalling - can...

I’m from Hong Kong and spend a few weeks a year in the Algarve. And every time, Yue Gang 粵港 in Almancil is one of my first stops! Whether it’s lunch with friends or family... this place always hits the mark.

The food is super fresh and properly authentic. On par with some of the best Cantonese restaurants back home in Hong Kong or in Guangdong. You can tell they really care about quality and keeping the flavours true to what they should be.

It’s a relaxed, friendly place, perfect for a casual meal but with food that seriously impresses. If you're craving real Cantonese cuisine while in the Algarve......
