Arrogant and egotistical staff. Didn't allow us to combine our tables out front for a larger group, pretended to be unable to speak English when we wanted tap water (we were not inclined to give a profit to them given poor service).

In general my experience of this part of Portugal was highly negative. Just down the road from this cafe the far right Chega party was recruiting activists, I got the sense this cafe owner felt everyone who entered her cafe should speak HER version of Portuguese to be able to access a simple service. I hope you all get the politicians you deserve, and that they destroy your economy, business...

This is such a shame as the coffee and other desserts are delicious! But the owner has an attitude problem as mentioned by a lot of people already. You are not allowed to do anything ie reading, crocheting (as I was for only 15 minutes!) or drawing etc. But there are people sitting on their phones for 1hour outside and that is okay? I had never tried Ouriços cakes. I was curious because I saw many people walking with bags with Ouriços from Casa da Fernanda. We went there and tried one. After a nice lunch it was a very good surprise to find also the perfect dessert! We bought2 dozens because we had a party, everybody was impressed by the wonderful taste!
