A narrow beach that seems to stretch a mile! The views and landscape are beautiful. The beach can get quite windy. I recommend grabbing a tent or bringing a windscreen with you. We set up shop, and got straight to reading. It’s a perfect beach to relax, play cards, read, and enjoy some downtime on a Sunday heading into the week!

Bis auf Zigarettenstummel hier und da ein sauberer Strand. Kleine Sonnenschutzmarkisen und Zelte kann man für 20€ je Tag mieten. Keine Liegen. Aufbau von eigene Schirmen und Klappstühle im öffentlichen Bereich des Strandes erlaubt. Hunde nicht erlaubt. Algen werden hin und wieder angeschwämt, die Menge hält sich in Grenzen. Starke Wellen und sehr viele Surfer. Wasser ist wie beim Ozean zu erwarten, kalt. Parkplatz ist klein und verhindert. Lack- und Blechschäden sollten eingeplant werden. Zugang zum Strand ist sehr steil und bei nässe rutschig (glattes Kopfsteinpflaster). Der Kioskcontainer hat genau zwei Toiletten, die man nur mit dessen Schlüssel betreten kann, wenn etwas vor Ort gekauft wird.

Também conhecida por praia da Baleia ou de Banhos, é uma das mais seguras do concelho, estando abrigada dos ventos de norte pela Ponta de Santa Marta. Desde a década de 70 tem sofrido um acelerado processo de desassoreamento, o que a torna, hoje, num areal pouco extenso confinado à parte sul da praia. Tem bares de apoio aos banhistas, salva-vidas e balneários públicos. Ericeira tem praias muito mais lindas do que esta.

Nice beach with a portion of calm waters (as i could see, good for surfing but don't make it your target of you're into big risky waves). There are restaurants, a public shower, and everyone will be served one way or another.

Easy to get to, and also about less than 10 min walking to the bus stop to get back to Sintra (to get the train back to Lisbon).

Check the water temperature, as it is a bit cold, so you know now...
