Bar The Beer Hunter Pub — Restaurant in Oeiras

This is a pub near the station of Oeiras, just a few minutes walk. Well cooled Portuguese beer and a very friendly and attentive service. The food menu is somewhat minimal, but eat the burger ('complete burger' on the card). With fries and salad it is enough for two people to go with the drinks. And if you go there more than once they will give you popcorn or crisps for free with the drinks. They have monitors with Portuguese or champion league games running, but normally with low volume. They open around 18:30, but be aware that Portuguese people go out late. So it really starts at around 11 or 12 pm to get really busy. Open until 3 or 4 am until the last guests leave. 2023 Nov - Very sadly, this is no longer the nicest pub around. There are so many more employees and somehow it still takes me 30m to get a beer when the pub is half-empty... Drinks get confused often and some employees have an attitude to blame or convince the customer that it's the same drink, but no, a Guinness is not a Kilkenny! Cocktails are very hit or miss, Gin & Tonic and Moscow Mule are good, but the rest are the worst and most expensive I have ever seen. Even the Beer Hunter sandwich which in the past was good, is served drenched in oil. You are in serious need of staff training for serving and cooking. I hope you improve to keep up with surrounding competition, it would be a shame to lose such a historic pub. Great environment, friendly...

Nice looking place and location, however very poor service. We entered and saw they accepted card, we had a couple of drinks and when leaving we were told there was a minimum price to pay with card. We had no cash on us so we had to walk for a while and come back to pay. When we commented that this policy was not addressed anywhere, the manager showed us it was written on the menu - it was, in an unusually small font, nearly unreadable. Our feedback was not well received and they still refused the card payment, despite having a card machine. Besides all that, we asked to sit outside and were told it was closed.
