"Restaurante Moreia" in Madalena do Mar is undeniably one of our favorite spots on the island, and for excellent reasons!
We've had the pleasure of trying numerous dishes here and have eagerly recommended this restaurant to both friends and tourists alike. What stands out are the exceptional flavors of dishes such as the "Massada de peixe," the "Arroz de Marisco," and the "Feijoada de Marisco." Each bite is a burst of coastal delight that transports your taste buds to the ocean.
But the culinary experience doesn't stop there. The lemon pudding, in particular, is nothing short of extraordinary - it's easily the best we've ever had! It's the perfect way to conclude a meal that already feels like a journey through the rich flavors of Madeira.
What truly completes the dining experience at "Restaurante Moreia" is the attentive staff. Their warm and friendly service adds a personal touch to every visit, making you feel like a valued guest.
In summary, "Restaurante Moreia" is a culinary gem in Madalena do Mar that consistently delivers exceptional dishes, with standout options like the "Massada de peixe," "Arroz de Marisco," and "Feijoada de Marisco." Read moreUsually I do not leave bad reviews. But this was truly bad experience. We were rather hungry and not able to eat even 20% of the meal. Service after quick approach and hearing we need 2 more minutes took over 10 to come back, even with us smiling and signaling we are ready. Simple Bolo de Caco took so long we thought they forgot, others got hot starters quicker. We took plate for 2 pax with cob fish. Fish was tasting like a shoe, potato’s were from oven but wet from the fish on them, the only eatable thing was shrimps. But also time for hot dish was rather long. Nobody wanted to come with check so we went to the bar. Nobody asked if it was Ok or why we left all the fish on the table. I have no idea why this restaurant has so high reviews… this was only bad experience on Madeira for 14 days, only eating out (90% Portugal food). Random snack bar was...

Luckily there is a walk near by to help digesting the food. To have a cherry on top of the cake the price is surprisingly low for the quantity and...
