During our visit, the 'Dobradas' stole the show. They were undeniably one of the best my dad and I have ever tasted. The flavours were rich and perfectly balanced, and the tenderness of the dish was a testament to the chef's expertise. The 'Bolo Prego' was another culinary delight, with its succulent flavours perfectly complemented by the delectable 'Batata Doce' (sweet potato) accompaniment.

The service at Onda Do Sol was excellent, with attentive staff members who made us feel welcome and catered to our every need. We had the pleasure of dining at "Onda do sol" every evening for a week, and each visit was pure bliss. The staff, Carlito and his colleagues, is incredibly smiling, welcoming, and friendly. They turned our stay, which was physically demanding at times, into a deliciously relaxing experience every night.

We tried to explore other restaurants, traveling all over the island, but none could compare. We always ended up coming back here, even after just having a drink elsewhere. Funchal is overpriced, with its crowds of tourists, cannot offer such an authentic and pleasant experience.

If you love meat, try the steak on stone 😋😋😋

This place has a beautiful dinning room yet they keep it closed and sit people out on the outdoor patio which is not very pleasant. They serve traditional Portuguese food. If you are Vegetarian or Vegan you will be very disappointed here as I was. There is no Vegetarian/Vegan option on the menu aside from SALAD! Restaurants like this have no idea that having at least three great vegan options on the menu will attract customers. I judge restaurant based on their Vegan options and return with more guests that are not vegan if there is food for me.
