Brutal — Restaurant in Portimão

Wow!!! It is SO GOOD!! We had a lovely woman who served our meal. She did not speak English but we all managed to work it out (menu has English on it) and it was an AMAZING meal. There was a vegetarian wrap that shocked us with how good it was! We also got a Francesinha (with chicken inside) and it was delightful. Make sure you order it “spicy” for something special (it is a mild spicy and very good for dipping fries in too)! We also had a kids meal, an extra order of fries, a small pitcher of wine, 2 coffees/milk, a L of water, and 2 desserts. Do NOT miss the desserts (we had banana and chocolate)!! They are in a refrigerator and when we were there, they had 4 flavors. Seriously do not miss out on them!! The inside of the restaurant is bright and welcoming with clean restrooms and easy parking. Cosy firstly comes to mind upon entering BRUTAL snack-bar. An engaging manager who explores this neat space where a typical dish from Oporto, the Francesinha, rules. Here, I had my first experience on the vegetarian alternative, and let me tell you, it was truly delightful. A nice texture, a very good combination of ingredients and an adapted sauce. Lovely!

Add that to a wonderful homemade chocolate mousse, nice music, and the good overall atmosphere we feel inside to make BRUTAL absolutely a must when visiting Portimão.

Brutal lives up to the name in the best possible way. The decor is very cool, the service is fantastic, and the food… well, let’s just say I briefly considered applying for citizenship after the first bite.

Despite my Portuguese vocabulary consisting solely of “pint of Super Bock” and a confidently mumbled “obrigado,” the staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home.

I went for the Brutal XL because apparently that’s what heroes do and I have no regrets. It’s not a sandwich, it’s a full-blown experience. I needed a nap, a hug, and possibly a support group afterward.
