CBC Comidas Bolos & Café — Restaurant in Portimão

A fairly new café that has an extensive and unique food menu. It can be hard to find lunch around Portimão that isn't typical Portuguese fare or English tourist food. This place borrows from many different cultures to bring all sorts of flavours!

I've been here a bunch of times now, and never leave unsatisfied. The food is thoughtfully made and the menu is really ambitious -- in a good way!

First, drinks. Not a bad one. The juices are delicious and refreshing! Coffee is great. I see a lot of people stopping in for takeaway coffee.

Now, cakes. Yes! Real cupcakes, proper cookies, and cakes! They don't have a huge selection but thankfully they're something different than you can find at almost any other snackbar or pastaleria.

Finally, food. It is so awesome to see young Portuguese guys really doing something different, especially in Algarve. It can be a risk to step outside the box, but they do it so well, I can only hope they have every success and change the rather limited food scene in Portimão. The future is in young Portuguese chefs and restaurateurs who want to bring flavour, spice, and boldness to food.

We've tried a bunch of starters and mains, brunches and lunches. Pide was well made and packed with flavour. Pulled pork was exactly what it's meant to taste like (trust me, we've had real American pulled pork). Prawn salad was excellent. Pancakes were a little basic compared to all the bunch places around but they tasted good. Scrambled eggs were again, really well made and for someone who isn't a fan of olives, even the tapanade was good. Burrata was huge and filling, and very fresh.

(Unfortunately, we are still on a hunt for a single good, real Caesar salad anywhere in Algarve.)

We will definitely be back again and again. It's just such a convenient location, with huge portions, so it's a very good price for what you get. Sometimes I think about just coming for a juice, that's how yummy it is.

The space is very clean, spacious, bright, and modern and also quite chill. And staff are amazing! Always happy to greet you and bring the best food experience possible.
