Restaurante Paladar — Restaurant in Portimão

What can I say other than what a find!! Didn't know it existed in our previous visits to Portimao until a friend, Igor, who works there, told us about it, not in the usual tourist places but simple to find. We 🚲🚲 to it and so pleased we made the effort, simple, well cooked food, 2 set menu's we went for the 14€ pp over the cheaper one, bread and olives, a main, with a choice of sardines, seabream and something else which escapes me and also a dessert which we had to refuse due to the amount of sardines we got on our main!! Just incredible value for money, and I can't recommend highly enough. You can't book due to its popularity. You just rock up and wait for a table. We arrived at 1.45pm, and there were 3 groups ahead of us waiting for a table, I think we waited no more than 15 mins, and I'm so glad we waited. In addition the staff are fantastic, working so hard so quickly and the guys cooking on the open grill were impressive in that heat!!! Muito bom restaurante, com menú, o que quer dizer, "quase tudo incluído". Se pedir mais um bocadinho de vinho, são mais 2,50€ por 1/4. O peixe está bem assado, o serviço é excelente, estão sempre atentos, as sobrenesas são boas e também os acompanhamentos. Menos a salada, chamei a atenção porque a alface estava com umas pontas velhas e não podiam ir à mesa... Tem estacionamento nas redondezas. Tem MB. Chegar às ntes do meio dia, em época baixa não é necessário tanto primor... mas o peixe acaba... (hoje 9/6, tentei lá ir e já sei que tem de se chegar cedo. Não havia aviso nenhum e fiquei por ali a fazer tempo. Quando me aproximei é que vi na esplanada um sr. que só disse boa tarde eu respondi e ele ficou à espera que eu dissesse algo, o que depois perguntei se iam abrir para almoço, e ele diz que só dia 12. Fica o aviso... Mas podiam ter posto no tripé da ementa essa indicação... Enfim... Pouco expeditos em dia de...

The food is great, the grill service is very fast and tasty. There might be a waiting list at the entrance, but we only waited 30mins and was totally worth it. 3 different menus, with different kinds of fish and they also have 1 or 2 steak dishes. Affordable and aired space inside....
