Based on recommendations from locals, we decided to try Mercado á Mesa for a delicious fish dinner. We started with the traditional bread, cheese, and olives, which were a tasty way to begin the meal. For our main course, we shared a whole grilled sea bass that was simply divine. The fish was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection, with crispy skin and flaky flesh. It arrived alongside a colorful medley of grilled vegetables that were seasoned beautifully. The restaurant itself had a sophisticated ambiance with dim lighting. The service was friendly and attentive, making our dining experience truly enjoyable. Mercado á Mesa definitely exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable seafood meal.

A great spot, just above the market. We had the mixed meat and fried squid, both tasty. For dessert we had a raspberry cheesecake and traditional Sericaia cake which is an alentejo dessert from Elvas - a cake with a plum syrup. Lots of great wine options, including very reasonable carafs at 3 sizes. Smallest one €4.50 and easily does 2 glasses.

Alert: In August prices increased about 25% ☹ My first time here. It's probably one of the best places of Santiago and neighbourhood. Nice food; Nice desert; Nice service (Diana and colleague); Nice atmosphere; "Quick" service. For 2 people, about 55€ Clean toilets.

Wonderful dining experience here at Mercado a Mesa. We were well cared for by Diana, who provided us with excellent recommendations and descriptions of the menu options. We chose a beef kabob (with fries and rice) and a fresh catch (a superb grilled dourodo with vegetables) and were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of our meals, and we were delighted with the chocolate almond cake for dessert. Diana was attentive, friendly, and professional in every way. Highly recommend her and...
