D'uportinho — Restaurant in Setúbal

I recently dined at a beautifully situated restaurant, and while the setting was breathtaking, the overall dining experience left much to be desired. I felt compelled to share my experience to prevent others from making the same mistake.

The restaurant is located in a picturesque setting, with stunning views that create the perfect atmosphere for a romantic dinner or special occasion.

Regrettably, the food fell far short of our expectations. We ordered two ceviche and salmon tartar, but the kitchen mixed up our order, serving us two tartars and one ceviche. When we brought this to the attention of the chef, we were met with insistence that the ceviche was, in fact, tartar. This not only created confusion but also left us disappointed in the chef's unwillingness to acknowledge the mistake.

Furthermore, the menu did not provide any information about the ingredients in the dishes. We ordered a "Salata Mista" assuming it would be a mixed salad, but to our surprise, it contained pineapple. This unexpected addition of pineapple did not complement the dish, and there was no mention of it on the menu. Similarly, the other plates, including the tartar, had undisclosed ingredients that caught us off guar

The ceviche, when we finally received it, was a far cry from what we expected. It lacked the freshness and zesty flavors that are characteristic of a good ceviche. Instead, it resembled a bland and unseasoned something. It did include pineapple tho. The salmon tartar itself was even worse. It was accompanied by tasteless mayo and was served over chopped pineapple (sic!)

The prices at this restaurant are on the higher side, which we expected given the beautiful location. However, the quality of the food did not match the prices we paid, making it feel like a poor value for our money.

In conclusion, while the restaurant's setting and ambiance are undeniably impressive, the food, the mix-up in our orders, and the lack of menu transparency were major disappointments. I would caution anyone considering dining here to manage their expectations when it comes to the culinary experience. My first google review ever but had to express my frustrations somewhere, and I guess that says a lot :) We were a family with two hungry kids coming a little early at 12 o clock for lunch. However, they told us they were open. After a long waiting time, and we were the only people there, we were ready to order. We were not able to see the fish at this point, and I told the waiter, that we only needed a smaller portion, so either one large or two smaller fishes (Durata). After one hour and ten minutes of waiting time food was ready. Fish was fresh and ok prepared, nothing fancy and nothing bad. However, portions were very big, and we ended up with a bill of 179 EU and were charged for 2.34 kg. The place is very disorganized without any ambitions. We decided to forget it all and just pay and leave and have a coffee next door. Here, the service was good and food looked much more interesting, so I would definitely recommend...

Ontem fui ao restaurante para comemorar o meu aniversário e a experiência não poderia ter sido pior.

Assim que chegamos, a mesa não estava pronta. Demoraram bastante para organizá-la e, quando finalmente nos sentaram, foi no andar de cima. Éramos um grupo de nove pessoas e demoraram imenso tempo até trazerem os menus. Quando entregaram, entregaram apenas um menu, e um amigo meu teve que ir buscar os restantes. Mesmo depois de montarem a mesa, faltavam talheres e constantemente tivemos que pedir mais, o que mostra a total falta de atenção e preparo.

A comunicação entre as funcionárias era inexistente. Duas atendentes diferentes vinham perguntar sobre o mesmo pedido, porque não havia coordenação e não anotaram nada corretamente. Depois, quando trouxeram o couvert, vieram sem parte da entrada solicitada e esqueceram as bebidas. Tivemos que chamar várias vezes as funcionárias do andar de cima para conseguirmos receber as bebidas.

Pedimos, entre outros pratos, uma dourada, mas nos serviram um robalo. Quando a empregada chegou à mesa informou que era robalo, mas ao questionarmos, a funcionária mudou de discurso dizendo que afinal era mesmo dourada. Porém, ao provar, minhas amigas perceberam claramente que se tratava de robalo.

O atendimento foi extremamente lento. Chegamos por volta das 13h e a comida só chegou às 15h05. Outra família no andar de cima, que já estava lá antes de nós, também estava a passar pela mesma demora. Uma das funcionárias de cima foi bastante antipática. Quando pedi para cancelar um pedido, respondeu de forma agressiva, perguntando: “Mas qual o problema? O que é que se passa? Já vai sair o pedido.” A outra atendente fazia piadas constantemente sobre a falta de organização e a demora, como se fosse algo normal.

O ceviche que pedimos estava intragável, e no geral o atendimento foi péssimo. Somente uma funcionária, que estava no andar de baixo, se desculpou de forma adequada pela confusão e pela má experiência.

Ainda houve comentários completamente desnecessários sobre o bolo que levei. Desde o início insinuavam que elas próprias comeriam o bolo. Quando pedi para guardar o restante, para que pudéssemos ir à praia depois, uma funcionária chegou a dizer: “Você não me ofereceu um pedaço de bolo, mas eu guardo para você sim.”

A comida, além de tudo, é extremamente cara para a qualidade e o serviço prestado, não vale o estresse. É uma pena, porque o restaurante tem potencial, mas a falta de preparo do staff, a ausência de simpatia, a lentidão no atendimento e a falta de comunicação entre a equipa acabam por arruinar completamente a...
