Casa da Galé — Restaurant in Sintra

Casa da Galé is an Restaurant where you can have lunch. Particularly fish is on the menu. The dishes we had were all good, but I was missing the special touch a bit. We had prawns, octopus salad, and some fries. Everything was fine, and the waiter was putting effort in, but I expected much more for the price of the dishes. The only top top dish on our table was the rice with octopus, which tasted very nice with fresh parsley in it. It had big chunks of octopus in it, which were super soft and tasty. All this restaurant had going for it was the location. We came to the restaurant on the recommendation of our tour good. The waiter did not speak any English and did not find anyone to help us. The lunch specials were only in Portuguese. The cheapest fish not on the lunch menu was 40 Euro. We placed our order after about 20 minutes. It took over an our for it to come out. One meal came out after all the other meals were finished (we sent it back and were not charged). The waiter did not care to check on us or our food the entire time. Pros: Great view Friendly staff; Decent food; Some foods are very pleasant looking;

Cons: Very slow service; Orders missing their correct side dishes; Some things you ask for (mainly missing side dishes) never arrive and are apparently forgotten.

Overall a 3 out of 5 experience. Would perhaps revisit just for the view and the staff, nothing else really merits coming back here.

Disclaimer: I did not sample the seafood for which the restaurant is known so come for yourself and have a taste... Just expect to wait a while...
